Salutations
In the interest of also socializing with peers more similar to myself, I happened upon these boards. Because the articles here are interesting, and fairly impressive, and I align with some of the views espoused here, I think I'd like to settle in for some discussion here, peradventure.
Insofar as details about myself that one who roams these boards might find interesting, I would tend to presume that you all are most interested in my temperament, intelligences, interests, diagnosis, and personality.
1. As far as a diagnosis goes, I have undergone a testing session with a few specialists, and I received results that more or less placed me somewhere between Asperger's syndrome and a moderately debilitated, highly functioning autistic individual. Also of interest, is that I was considered an autistic savant. While this was intriguing to those who knew me fairly well, having basically expected results along those lines, it wasn't all that helpful. But that's enough of that for now.
2. Suffice to say that I am similar to the dinner party dilettantes of Enlightenment era Europe, primarily in that I have a broad range of scholastic and humanistic interests. They shared a comparative and relative approach to diverse issues, focusing on concepts like universality amongst the philosophies. But our similarities basically stop at that point. They, being generalists to the point of using hyperbolic language and the logic of sophists, were the "jacks of all trades and masters of none". I, on the other hand, would at least apply myself to be like Aristotle, one who makes substantial progress in all forms of inquiry.
With that standard of achievement in mind, I have applied myself to attaining a post-grad comprehension of most every academic subject that I can. There truly is no more marvelous sensation than learning.
3. In terms of interests, I would say that I've focused primarily on the following subjects so far- epistemics (especially propositional logic and rules of inference), theology, historiography, musicology, anthropology, the classical languages, and general philosophy. Certainly, I will be discussing these topics if the opportunity arises, and if you are interested in musicology as well, I would invite you to peruse my library.
4. Personality and temperament... Well, for starters I am an INTP. As far as everything else goes, you may or may not get to know me while I frequent these boards.
Now that I'm a little bit sick of talking about myself, I'd much prefer to acquaint myself with some of you.

Hi! Welcome to WP. I like the way you write and you sound like very interesting person.
What instrument(s) do you play? I don't play primarly classical/art music, but anyway, my main instrument is piano, and I also have selftrained my self to play violin, guitar and flute. Loving it.
Sorry about my bad English

Should we ever have the pleasure of a PM discussion, for whatever reason, feel free to talk with me in your native tongue. You obviously would be more comfortable talking in your own language, and I pick up quickly on language.
As for the instruments that I play, when I was in high school I learned how to play at an intermediate level with most of the western symphonic instruments. Before I decided the couple of majors that I want to focus on, I fancied for myself a future in music and music history. But I didn't like my options, especially monetarily, as far as a music major goes. Nowadays I practice the piano and guitar mainly, as well as tuning and repairing instruments.
It's wonderful to hear already from someone else here who likes to play music. If you don't mind my asking, what music do you play?

That's so cool that you can play so many instruments. I would like to be able to do that too. I play mainly Finnish pop music, but I'm really not that restriched, I like to play almost anything. And also play my own music (not songs, but what evercome to my mind... like improvising)
As fas as I'm concerned, I have absolutely no problems in using English, for me it quite fluent, you know, in my mind, but I know that for you natives it may look weird and not so easily understandable and fluent... I think understanding not-so-fluent language is a bit harder for us literally thinking Aspergers then to NT's. Atleast I'm having some kind of problems understangin my mothertongue, Finnish, if it's used somewhat differently. But if you want to learn Finnish, then you are welcome to practise it with me, eventhough my disability to wholy understand weirdly used language
