I am called Émeline.

I am an over-gifted ("diagnosed") and Asperger (personally diagnosed with the help of a various kind of tests, but officially diagnosed on March) person.

I am thirty-three years old, I have been living at my parent's home and I have never worked.
Why such a social situation ? I do not speak and understand the social language, hence there are always troubles when I communicate with someone because I get bored quickly, I think much, I complicate each word and topic, I feel bags of emotions which are often not adapted to what happened, etc. Furthermore, I suffer from hyperacusis, synesthesia, etc. (they are disabling even though they are not considered as pathologies).

There is so much to write about me and the consequences of the Asperger syndrome and over-gift on me, my everyday life and family, nevertheless I do not have enough time and courage !

I am just pleased to know this forum.

Hello. :) I'm curious about this over-gift idea. What does this relate to? I also noted your location to be in France - are you open to teaching some French language skills?
Welcome.

You might have Savant Syndrome.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Savant_syndrome

You should reach out to Sussex University
http://www.sussex.ac.uk/synaesthesia/

The only thing rare about Savant Syndrome are the doctors that are looking for it.

Welcome, Émeline! I relate to what you wrote about not understanding social stuff and having emotions when they're not called for. What kinds of synesthesia do you have?

Here is a definition of the intellectual giftedness : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intellectual_giftedness
To sum up, it means than I have got an intellectual quotient that is higher than the average. It sounds great but it is quite hard to live with when you have already the Asperger syndrome !

Yes, I would be pleased to teach my language ! Do you speak other languages ?

To me, I do not have this syndrome because I have got a high intellectual quotient and apparently it is not the case for people who have such a syndrome. But I have learned something ; I did not know the Savant syndrome ! Thank you.

I have a visuo-spatial synesthesia, but I did not know it until my father told me that not everyone "sees" the days of the week the way I "see" them ! I always thought it was normal.

Do you have synesthesia ?

I don't think so. I do associate some numbers with colours, but it's not like I see a distinct, clear colour for every letter and number. But I find synesthesia a very interesting subject.

I actually have Savant Syndrome/Synesthesia and can categorically refute that statement (in the nicest possible way  ).

Here is a similar case to my own:

PM me if you'd like to talk.

Hello Mitchel,

I sent you a private message but I do not know whether it worked because there is nothing at all in my "sent messages" box. Hence, I sent two or three other messages, however it did the same.
