Hey all,

Nice to meet you. I'm new on this forum.

I'm diagnosed as ASD in August 2014 and currently looking for a job that would suit my interests and personal needs.
I like to stay indoors more due to my social awkwardness and communication issues,
and go out for a walk and run errands when I feel like.

I'm currently under the support by a job supporting center in Fukuoka, Japan, specifically for those diagnosed as developmental disorders (such as ASD, Asperger, LD) and mentally challenged, as well as those with physical disabilities.

I'm hoping to get a job that actually pays me off (the center is only for training and thus I dont get paid there) by the end of November, or I would renew my contract with the center for an upcoming year.

I'm hoping to get to know myself better on this forum,
as well as others who are diagnosed as ASD in particular, and other types of developmental disorders.

I hope I can make myself clear with my English. I'm doing the best I can. :)

Welcome to WP. :D I've been wondering how well recognized autism spectrum disorders are in Japan, and I think it would be a fascinating topic to learn about.

Konnichiwa!

I love Japan. and I'm frustrated that I live in an area where schools of any kind only teach Italian or Spanish. (sigh)...I've tried to self teach, but I always get distracted. I need help in keeping structured. I really wanna visit to Japan, but I'm not good with super long airplane trips. Being cooped up for 4 hrs or more in a plan really messes up my system. But maybe one day.

Mr_bigmouth_502, I would say that in Japan ASD are starting to get more commonly recognized due to the media focusing more on developmental disorders, yet the support systems are rather behind how they are expected to be.

I would love to know how the situations on ASD and other types of developmental disorders are overseas, and what Japan can learn from them.

I'm very happy to have warm welcomes by such wonderful people on this forum.
I honestly feel that I have found a great place to belong to, after all those years of hardship.

Simmian7, konnichiwa! :D
I could teach you Japanese online if you like.

Regarding airplanes, anything over 7 hours of flight would be too long for me.
The longest flight for me is a little over a half day from Osaka to Atlanta, and I'm glad I have managed it! :P
