Hello, I've been recently diagnosed. Wow, hasn't improved things. However, my understanding of myself and my life have been much improved. I've been in IT for many years. If I say anything on these forums which offend, I pre-state, not my intention. I'm always offending people or saying the wrong thing. Usually, what I say is what is accurate for what is being asked or discussed. However, things usually do not go well afterwards. I found this site, and hopefully I won't have these same struggles amongst my neurological peers. I only wish I knew this about myself earlier in my life.

Hi,

Welcome!

I've been able to improve my life by identifying sources of stress and removing them as best I can. Some are easy, like getting rid of noisy clocks and replacing them with silent ones. Another is to reduce the number of bills I have to deal with each month. Bill Autopay helps with that.

Sometimes you can read about stuff to do. One of the most popular ones is to use ear defenders or high fidelity earplugs. I went to see Rocketman and the theater volume was really loud. Glad I brought my earplugs.

Hello arh,
Welcome to WP. I was diagnosed of ASD at the young age of 55.
I am still learning about ASD. I am comfortable with being an Aspie, although I do not enjoy when I have a meltdown.

Hey arh, welcome to Wrong Planet. :jester:

I was diagnosed shortly before I turned 50 years old. The diagnoses has helped me to understand myself better but, oh how I relate to your wishing to have known about the autism earlier in life lol. :)

That was me lost for words, trying to work out whether Arh is someone I know. Sort of. When I was falling upwards and went through some white matter.
