Welcome!

I think I did the fastest tour of Manhattan possible, driving through the city at 6AM on the way to Long Island!

Welcome to WP!

Is NYC as expensive as people say it is?

Thank you for the welcomes.

Yes, NYC is quite expensive. I do like not having to deal with a car though.

Living in NYC. Well, it's noisy and expensive. However, it has great choices of restaurants, no need for a car, and many interesting museums and shows - things that are interesting enough to get me out of the apartment to see them.

There's alot to be said for living in the city(I've opted to stay in cities like London, Rome & Vienna for the reasons you mentioned. In London, I've stayed in a major high-rise with stunning views, but my favourite thing was staying on a vintage houseboat at St Catherine's Docks, London. Everything was within walking distance, or a boat ride on the Thames away. There was a view of Tower Bridge from my boat. A boat is much cheaper than an apartment, but I preferred it ... love being on the water. You have Central Park 8)!

Welcome to Wrong Planet.

Are you aware of the Aspie/autistic support groups that meet in Manhattan?

- Aspies for Social Success (AFSS) (peer-led)
- AANE-NY (professional-led)

The next AFSS meeting is this week Wednesday evening.

There's also a smaller, more private peer-led group that meets in Queens (accessible via the A train, J train, or the Q37 bus which in turn is accessible from the E/F lines) on the first Wednesday of each month. PM me if you are interested.
