Me too. Let's be friends.

I'm an undiagnosed neurodivergent and I'm tired of feeling alone with this wrong planet syndrome... I want to find my tribe.

I'm undiagnosed because mental health is still a taboo in my country and there are many misconceptions even among mental health professionals and it's hard to get help, but I'm not giving up, in fact I have a new appointment coming up.

But I do know that I'm an introvert HSP with CPTSD and some AD(H)D and autistic traits, and I do not identify as a neurotypical.

Can you expand on why mental health is still taboo in your country? I assume the traditional or old world values would be a big factor. Just curious as I’ve always wanted to see your country.

I’m undiagnosed and have always considered my self an introvert as I like my alone time. Since I’ve self-diagnosed and have allowed myself to be more self aware, the more extrovert I have become.

Prior to COVID mental health wasn't even discussed in the mainstream, during COVID lockdown there was an attempt to bring it forward but with no visible results. I belief people were getting help by psychology therapists but not willing to talk about it. In my personal experence, if you have mental health issues you are seen as weak or crazy, so you wouldn't talk about it and when you do it's likely you ear "take some pills, that you get better", and people (even friends and family) vanish "to give you time to recover". If you have a lifetime diagnosis unfortunately you're seen as disable. My partner was diagnosed with OCD: after I "diagnosed" him, I was hable to find him a OCD specialist psychiatrist who gave him a diagnostic. But mine is proving to be more difficult: "You're an intelligent person,  you're just tired, you're just confused, you just need to put your mind in order." And meanwhile I can't leave my home alone, I'm struggling with agoraphobia, and even that is being dismiss. But that's my personal experience and I do not dare to speak for an entire country as I truly want to be proven wrong.

The US has some of the same stigma as you have described. I recently watched a tv public service announcement to help offset some of this “fixit by” stigma. I have found the same useless advise, even from my own family. In my opinion, this forum has been very good for me since I joined as it has given me some direction.

In what way, can I ask?

Several ways, one is by recognizing myself in the other peoples posts. The repetition, info dumps, precision minds, and the use of literal wording are all the things that I can relate. The insights and guidance from the board for research into subjects that I studying has been helpful. Even playing the games is comforting to me. The diverse opinions help me work on opening my own mind on subjects where I’ve refused to budge in the past. I’ve reached out or tried to push myself by exposing myself as to be as honest with myself, which hopefully will carry over in my posts. This helped me become more comfortable with myself. Just reading the board has expanded my vocabulary.
