Hello. My name is BC. I'm 18 years old, FTM transgender, and diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome.

My "thing" is combine harvesters. I can talk for hours about combine harvesters, even though I have yet to operate one. I plan to go on a harvest run in 2009. I love working with machinery in general, be it computers, sound systems, cars, or combines. Currently, I am a sound engineer at a cowboy church, and I go to school fully mainstream. I like taking long walks listening to my favorite "motivational farming music", and I love going for long drives with my friends.

Socially, I do pretty good. If you get past my transgenderness, monotone voice, and lazy eye, I'm pretty easy to get along with. I have some space/panic issues. I can't ride in the back seat of a car unless I sit in the middle, and can see the road. I don't like being in elevators with a lot of people, nor do I like having to sit between two people in the movie theatre, on airplanes, etc. The small space isn't really the issue. I just don't like humans really close to me.

All-in-all, I've learned to adapt alright. Most folks I meet have no idea I have AS, they just think I'm a weird duck.

Indeed, skunk-harvesting is a foul event. Cleaning remnants from a combine's innards ain't so fun, either... but combines are amazing machines, regardless of that occasional animal mishap.
