It's not that different from how my nephew's laptop looks, except he doesn't have anything AOL related. I got mine upgraded from AOL. The only thing I dislike is how there is no favorites bar across the top, it's on the side if you leave it open, which I don't. I also don't like the little see through tabs on the top. I liked how they looked on the old one, but I'm actually getting used to it now.
If I had my way I would have a computer with Windows 98SE and AOL 7.0, but it would be as fast as this. That's what I used at the very first and for the longest time because when I upgraded the AOL I'd just go back to the 7.0 because I didn't like how it looked. I haven't had actual AOL in forever though, only AIM. I had it when we had dialup and when we finally got broadband I got my daughters fiance (then boyfriend) to set it up for me as still a paid account because I liked how it looked and did not like how BellSouth looked.
I'm kind of a technophobe. It takes me forever to get used to something and then that's all I'll use. I used an ipod touch for close to a year and then when mine broke I bought another desktop for me to use (my daughters fiance has their big desktop set up in their room but I can't figure it out well and the monitor is a huge screen tv and it's just too much). The kids have ipod touch's (newer than mine before), laptops, and Kindle Fires and can do the internet on their phones and I am terrified to touch them. I just know I'll mess it up, plus it's so small that I can't see well on it. Also, this desk chair fits my behind nicely and it's quiet here in the livingroom because the tv is in the den.
