Omg, that made me laugh... I am having one of those nights where I keep getting amusing images flashing into my head of people desperately trying to avoid seeing that septic looking thing

Only an admin can delete someone's avatar, and there's only one admin on this site.

I think we need our avatars to be approved. If they are inappropriate they shouldn't be allowed to be used. Kids use this site!

Yes. FTW! That is appropriate.

Actually, it should be more correct to give sctrict guidelines for what is appropriate for avatars...

that would be good, or also send a pm asking permission and brief discription of avator apon asking for approval

like for example, if i were to go from the bearded lady (im sure many of you remember that one) to computer and closer(this one) id say like my avator is of a laptop with a door closer made by norton in front of it with its arm on keyboard it means "i can now say i have norton on my computer" meaning its a joke about symentec products meaning that its only relieable one that dont hog up resources or goof it up.

then alex or whoever approves thinks about it or has a vote with other members or fellow mods (if the mods come back as mods) and if approved the person can use it, if not then find another one.

good idea?? i think so

In my opinion, it has taken far too long for something to be done about that avatar.

Alex? Hello????

Somewhere in the world a mod is having a heart attack.

This would make modding even worse.

I agree. I can understand if Alex thinks he should be the only authority when it comes to banning members or deleting entire threads. But mods should have the authority to censor - at least temporarily address the issue of a pornographic pic (are diseased vaginas considered porn?) or pornographic post.

Also, is there a way to remove just the one poster's post so that the whole thread doesn't get ruined because one person trolled it with the c-word?

Over on another board (where I am one of the moderators), one new member used an avatar consisting of the Teletubbies dressed as Nazis, complete with little swastikas. The site administrator removed the avatar and sent the user an explanation. The user hasn't been back since.

He has a few crude posts (above) and his pro-incest views in the thread in the news forum that reminds of more than one past trolls threads on the same subject.

I thought that his posts were inappropriate. I sort of was giving him the benefit of the doubt about questioning why incest is so taboo. I know that we've had people troll on the subject before, but we've also had threads were people legitimately question social norms.

The 9/11 comments and the repeated use of the word "c**t" and then his avatar that had the word "c**t" made it clear that he was a troll. I think that he put a pic of that diseased vagina up because he didn't get a reaction out of the avatar that just had the word on it.

I PM'ed him in the early afternoon my time though. He really should have seen it before he went to sleep (assuming he keeps a normal sleep schedule).

I think it is a general rule, or something that should just be known. I mean obviously you don't use that on a site that kids use... and plus even if the rule were set, people would still violate them.
