I'm just showing what others have done in the past by judging people's spelling and grammar, implying that their areas of expertise are invalid, or splitting hairs with the wording of their insults and a pocket dictionary.

I think you summed her post up perfectly , and my view of LG's post was she was attacked , she retaliated , then others got butt hurt , her point being some like to dish it out but can't take it in return

There's also a cultural aspect to this: in several European countries having very bad grammar is seen in a similar way to how North-Americans see having bad BO, it's not a snobbery issue. but the way we are taught to think about our language and the meaning of words. Most native French speakers, for instance, consider polite to correct as it's supposed to help people not to make the same mistakes repeatedly.
I definitely had to adjust my way of thinking once I started using English-speaking forums, but sometimes, as a non-native speaker I can still get confused by jumbled syntax or grammar, missing words, auto-correct and all that.
But I've learned to keep my mouth shut.

I think it's important to remember here that no matter how much some things can get on our nerves, sometimes you've got to learn to live and let live. Or at least not bite anybody's head off over it.
This was posted today in another thread and it's a good way of describing a kind of blindness we all can suffer from and lead to overly-critical, judgemental or cruel attitudes toward others.

I think WP has a very strong future if people continue this sort of dialogue. Amity had a great idea about getting to the heart of these issues, and the conversation seems very productive now. People seem to be making significant changes, even if it involves baby steps. I see a lot more respect for emotional and intellectual diversity in the past month, and I hope it continues.
I still maintain it's all about understanding the rules, reporting issues, and having them addressed as soon as possible.
I think we're all on the same page now, or at least I hope so.

I hate to say, but my first thought was "What if there's also someone else in the picture, a third person shouting insults at both of them for being friends, and calling them both weak?" I've seen a bit of that here but I think the tone is changing. It's important that we empower one another and remember we are meant to be a family. I think if push comes to shove, most of us would do anything to help someone else. We have to keep that in mind as we post.
