I try loading a forum but keep getting an error saying that the forum does not exist so I have to go back to the forum index in order to select the right one which is kinda annoying

Can someone possibly fix it on here so I can directly load a forum instead of having to go through the forum index?

Thanks in advance!

Forums and threads are accessible from any of their index pages and functioning as expected.

What specific steps did you take that generated the error - clicking on a link in a post, or something more direct?

Was this in response to clicking a link in a notification for a thread or forum you're following? I have seen errors like this when a message was deleted after the notification was sent. I think it can also happen if the site has trouble verifying the user's credentials. Being a software developer myself, I can confirm that error messages are often misleading. Developers like to think their software is perfect and don't spend time getting error handling right.

It happens when I load a specific forum through either my bookmarks or history

Which specific forum?
Can you copy/paste here the URL as it appears in your bookmarks?

I think it happens with all forums

Every time I try to sign in and load a forum I get a 404 error

All resources listed in the forum indexes are available to load. A 404 error is a page or file not found error, which implies an incorrect URL.
Can you copy/paste here a URL which causes that error to appear?

For the last few days(at least) this site has been having brief periods of acting very sluggish & nothing happens on my browser. This happens on my desktop using my Xfinity net & also on my phone using my Verizon net. During one of those frozen moments I went to Is It Down Right Now & typed wrongplanet.net & was given the standard 404 error message.

I just checked that while reading this thread (and generally browsing the forums) - yet "Is It Down Right Now" is displaying a 404 error for WP, which is plainly bogus. Not least because I'm able to make this post, and a simple ping of wrongplanet.net returns active results. It also claims the site has been down for "more than a week".

As I write, shopify.com is supposed to be down (it isn't), and amtrak.com (it isn't), along with other sites - so it seems that the error lies with "Is It Down Right Now".
