Do we have any autistic law students represented on the forum?

On the advice of counsel, I hereby exercise my First and Fifth Amendment rights in response to that question.

That’s awesome. I’m a law student myself. Hopefully some of them respond. Are you a law student or lawyer?

No, although I studied Philosophy (Law and Justice).

I'll let other people identify themselves.

Welcome to WP.

That’s awesome. I studied Philosophy (political philosophy and ethics concentration) and Economics in undergrad before beginning my study of Law. Do you enjoy reading philosophy?

Primarily German Romanticism, Metaphysics and Ethics.

I quite enjoyed the Philosophy of Math and Deductive Logic too, but I'm pretty rusty with it now.

I'm useless with business and economics.

Congrats on getting into law school. I know quite a few law students and recent grads.

I have been a practicing lawyer for 36 years.

It probably helped that I wasn't diagnosed with ASD until 18 months ago.

EDITED: having written that I wanted to make clear that I have been autistic my whole life, not that I didn't just become autistic 18 months ago.

Well, considering you have a disability & you have achieved a bachelor's degree - that is something in and of itself. Don't feel bad for not working, loads of graduates don't ever get satisfying careers. If it boosted your self esteem to get that certificate - it was all worth it.

I always thoroughly enjoyed logic, especially my symbolic logic course. It was fun little puzzles.

That’s awesome. I’m just about embark on my law career though. Do you have a specific area of practice or are you a generalist?

I have zero actual experience outside of internships. What area of law do you do, or want to do?

My main practice is corporate finance. I began my career doing chapter 11 bankruptcies, workouts and restructures, and I still do a fair amount of that work.

I mostly have experience in labor law, i am interested in commercial law too though. It gives me courage to see other law students/lawyers here.
