I defiantly am. They always come up with stupid ideas that really wouldn’t work, and I’m the one forever telling them why. Kinda makes me a bit of a killjoy, but I always look at life seriously

Yes, unfortunely.

Yes. I usually act and feel like I am 10 years older than I am. My friends are usually a lot older than me. One of my better friends is 28 years old to my 21 and we have pretty similar temperaments. I also get along with the older guys at work more than the people my age. It's been that way for me for a long time. When I was a kid my best friend was 3 years older than me (a big gap when you 7 years old )

Most people in College act like they are 15 while I act like I am 50.

Thats probably why I never get along with anyone my age .

Of course I am. I am only 24 and I have
-dealt with having AS and a highly autistic brother
-beat a heroin addiction, and alcoholism--- sober for over 2 years
-survived depression and a suicide attempt
-was viciously assaulted while under the influence of a large does of LSD at age 16
-almost been to jail
-wore an ankle bracelet for 4 months, had driver's license taken away
-worked multiple sh***y jobs, some with psychopathic bullies for bosses
-had to basically rebuild my life from the ground up, with everyone in my life turning their backs on me but my parents
-still found a way to save up over $50,000 during the past few years
- have finished 2 years of university, will get my degree in another 2
to name a few things.

I would say I have more life experience and acquired wisdom than most people twice my age, let alone my peers.

I get along so much better with adults. I'd rather talk about politics or something like that than boys and drinking, so that kills much of the interaction I could have with people my age.

I would say yes.

However, I find that many people tend to think that they're mature; most are not as mature as they fancy themselves to be. (Of course, that doesn't mean that everyone who claims to be mature is not. It just means I'm wary of claims that aren't backed up by others.)

definitely. the general motto at my school is "D is for done is for drunk." It's not unsual to see people wandering around the campus completely thrashed, it shocks the professors to actually have students who give any type of interest in learning. Needless to say, most of the professors see me as a God-send; I do my work, am at-least vaguely interested in what they are teaching, show up to class, and don't look like I've just woken up and am hung-over.

Definitely more mature.

All these idiots like around here are crappy "music," piracy, and stupid stuff like Myspace. And bullying (your reputation acts like a faithful old Labrador suddenly savaging your leg and expressing itself on your living room carpet when you don't take medicine for 2-4 years). There are a few people that understand me, and the people who even remotely do are my friends if they're nice enough to me. (High standards in this hellhole known as secondary school.)

So, in some ways, I'm more mature. Wait, did that even have to do with it?

No, probably not. I am quite childlike in my emotions and to a lesser extent, my thought-processes.

I am told that all the time, though I haven't applied myself in school since around the 5th grade. Somehow always seemed to hold out with a B average, gotta be luck.

Outwardly, I seem to be more mature than my collage age peers. This is probably because I am so quiet and reserved. I also tend to plan out my actions carefully and avoid foolish risks or reckless behavior. On another level I'm not as mature, certain aspects of my social skills are so behind others I feel that I cannot catch up. Such things as holding a job or making friends is very difficult for me. I suppose there are several distinct aspects to maturity.
