CONGRADU****INGLATIONS!
No seriously, I am very excited for you. I also thank you for your (albeit brief) synopsis of the interview. I am also a student (but of psychology) that wishes to pursue medical career some time after graduation (and requirements completed) and just again want to say thank you for throwing some information on here.
I was thinking through your first post how similar neurology is to electrical things, because there can be shorts, failures, gaps, and that since it's a relatively new branch of medicine there are a ton of developing procedures for neurological problems (taking animal nerve cells, typically with tremendous axons, and implanting them into human thighs). Even if you don't go into neurology, I wish you severe luck!
*ahem* What school were you accepted to?
And about the whole experience and related major thing, I was told (by a couple doctors I spoke with on the subject) experience isn't *necessary* but it's good to have to show you aren't looking solely for money and glory, and majors are totally irrelevant -- so long as you have applicable course work. My PCP had a friend in college that was an art major, and he was accepted to ALL medical schools (more than a dozen) he applied to.
