Wow, it never fails. You think by the age of 29 I would stop screwing things up for myself. ha ha

Things were going well with school. I was on the deans list, I had a 3.8 grade point average, I was going to join the honor society.
Then I do one stupid thing to screw it all up.
I forget to take a final exam for one of my on-line classes.
It's not even a mandatory class for my degree!! It's extra!! ! It's an easy A!! ! I took this class to have 12 credits instead of 11. 12 credits will enable me to have a full time schedule which will also ensure that I have full time pay from my GI bill.
Now I will also have to pay them back and I can't afford that.

This really sucks. I am so upset.

and BTW, who schedules the final exam one week before all of the other teachers have theirs due? I just assumed it was due this week instead of last because all of my other finals are this week.

Well, good news. I got a second chance and took the test. The teacher told me I will get a 10% penalty on my test grade. What a relief.

Yeah. I was going to post that there
are almost always ways around these
kinds of problems. Glad to see this
worked out.

thanks all.

I sent him an e-mail thanking him and this was his reply:

You're very welcome. To quote Homer Simpson, we all have "Doh!" moments
occasionally - I certainly do.

pretty cool of him 8) Especially since he's a Homer Simpson fan so he must be cool. (-: :)

I checked my grade and either he didn't take the points off like he said he was going to or I originally had a perfect score!!

yay yay yay yay! I was having such a panic attack over this and now I'm feeling kind of silly.

Fantastic!

It's absurd how scheduling, organization and punctuality count for more than brains in the modern university system. You could be the top student in your class but if you oversleep one exam...bye bye GPA.

Sounds like your professor is a reasonable person, unlike so many. Congratulations :D

lol yeah... work does that. :? Really wish it didn't... it's strange - I feel the work challenge is more demotivating than socialising a lot of the time, and I sure don't find socialising easy. :D Occasionally I do, but on occasion. Usually not.
Congrats for the good result. :)

I go to a community college here in Gainesville, FL. I actually ended up getting a C+ in my class but it is better than an F.
My husband told me I can make it up easily and get back on the dean's list but I am still devastated about it.

Thanks for the support guys/gals.

Well, Nellie, you never know that this day will change your life for the better.
I hope things turn out better.
