They changed the terms of my job, and after 3 months of independent contracting, I will be a full-time employee with full benefits, and it will be permanent!! !

Yay!! !

I had an interview for a GIS position in Houston this morning. They replied back about an hour ago, and they said I got it. I start the Tuesday after Memorial Day (May 31st).

It is a 18-month contract position paying $20/hour.

From a fellow Houstonian, congratulations!

First week at my new job went extremely well. Then again, our work stations weren't set up yet. The action really begins next week.

My office is very nice, our department is on the top 2 floors of a parking garage, but there is also a fitness center on the same floor, and a lunch area with a fountain and an excellent view of downtown. And that's not counting all the shops and restaurants in the tunnels.

My contract was terminated because of structural dynamics. I guess the job search resumes now.

Just two weeks into it, and just when I was actually understanding everything.

Oh that is seriously bad. I am sorry to hear that. Are they doing anything to help?

No, they aren't helping me. And I was really enjoying this job, and it was a miracle that I even got that one. Today, they told me that I was laid off because they hired too many people.

Tim Tex, that sucks! And here I was, reading through the posts just so I could congratulate you, and now this! I'm really sorry to hear that happened to you, and I wish you the best in your job search. How unfair!

Sorry...
But thats how it happens with Aspie's
Even i have joined a job recently and everyones eyes are on me
In the school where im supposed to be teaching they need just one teacher
but instead this people are placing 2 others with me...i dont know why
maybe as a backup since they would be removing me from there soon...
or something planned up
Its too scary...u never know..
