The present day Scandinavian culture tells you to stribe for mediocrity (be mediocre at everything, but do not excel at anything). In a job interview, obscure criteria such as eye-contact, tone of voice and so on is far more important than how well you can do your job.
I've only heard about that in Denmark , so why are these nations so wealthy ? I can at least respect them for being honest about it Jeramy Clarkson of Top Gear Fame once said the English have made resting on their laurels a national sport , now I know where the Australians get that trait
btw lonermutant has depression I have anxiety that's why where both on disability I hope to find a low end part time job though I wonder if people will be able to put up with my behaviours ....
