I work as a cart pusher at the local superstore and I have a cuban hat at my house that has the Cuban flag and a picture of Che Guevara on it. I like to wear it to work and tell my coworkers "Viva Fidel Castro!" They don't like me to say that but I say it anyway.

Does anyone else do something like this?

No because that's stupid. You piss your co-workers off enough and they'll find an excuse to get rid of you eventually.

I agree. When I worked at a grocery store the dress code wouldn't allow me to wear anything political. It seems to me you are annoying your co-workers, and I don't want for you to be fired.

I will not get onto the rights or wrongs of Cuba and the USA, it is not a simple matter.

But it is best if you do not use the international dispute as a means of irking your fellow workers. I know that aspies sometimes upset and irk others by mistake but it seems like you are trying to irk and unset the others. My advice to you would be to leave the hat at home and stop making pro cuba remarks.

If you can not make smalltalk with the others it is best not to try to make a conversatrion based on you saying unpopular things. It is better for you to be known at work as the person who just gets on with the job who does not socialise with the others rather then being known as the person who irks the others through their political statements.

I have not done something political like you described, but many years ago I played practical jokes on co-workers that were sort of funny but could definitely get me in trouble, and I think I did them just to be wild and crazy. Maybe I was bored and a little demon just took over my brain. I did not get in trouble, but that was due to luck. I look back on those pranks and cringe. Maybe you feel like you want to do something off the wall to liven up your job a little?

are you trying to get fired? if you go out of your way to p!ss off your coworkers and management, that's a sure path to the unemployment line.

not understanding others and inadvertantly irritating others is one thing. going out of your way to irritate people is just stupid.

That is absolutely true - especially in this economy. There are probably 10 guys out there that don't want to piss off their coworkers waiting to take your job. Not only that, but cubans tend to be sensitive about castro. You may find your car tires slashed or yourself shot if you piss off the wrong one. Or all of the above.

As far as pranks. I am guilty of that myself. In the office where I worked, the office manager was going around putting high pressure on all of the employees to buy into an office lottery pool. She just wouldn't leave me alone because I kept refusing to contribute. The drawing was on saturday. So that friday after work I went down and bought several tickets consisting of all the numbers that could be drawn. Early monday morning, I went in and after a few minutes with a pair of scissors and the copy machine, I produced a fake copy of a lottery ticket that had the winning numbers from the saturday drawing. With that done, I took it and laid it on the office managers desk with a note that said "I decided to take your advice and play the lottery, but it was too late to get in on the office pool. I don't know how these things work. Please check to see if I have won anything." When she came in, I could hear her screaming all the way down the hall. After about an hour of hearing them scream "He went on his own and won!", I eventually told them what I did. From that day forward, they never bugged me about joining the office lottery pool.

I kind of like running jokes! Of course, you can transition to new running jokes.

Sometimes a good social method is just to take something sideways.

l always last a long time at jobs because I make the bosses like me. I was they guy at my last job that always found the celeberty porn videos, weird Japanese porn, funny accident clips, and hard to find information for everyone at work. I helped their kids find hard to find information for reports I even helped shovel out some people's cars when we had a heavy snow fall when we were working. I was weird and they teased me but they liked me. I always made sure to be usefull to everyone

My first long term job I tried not to speak to anyone on that job and they found it easier to hate me. I was the weird guy they loved to hate. The boss loved me because I always did more than I was assigned to do. It also made the other employees hate me more but they are not the one who signed my pay checks.

I am a quiet worker that does the work I am given. But a common occurence for me is getting my work done and not having anything else to do. I don't get too many calls put through to me because I am not very good when it comes to that.

I am sure coworkers would be annoyed by the fact that I have nothing to do occasionally but whenever I say "do u have any work I can do" I get the 'no" answer quite a bit.

I have not gone out of my way to annoy my co workers but I have done it by accident.
like when I was folding letters and two letters (to two different people) went in the same envelope (an accidental error on my part) NOT GOOD!. especially when the letters are on confidential matters. luckily the person threw away the letter that didn't concern them and the 2nd letter was resent to the right person.

Just push those carts and build good relationships with your coworkers, if it helps imagine if you asked them to be a reference for you.
Would they? What would they say about you?

You spelled "coworkers" wrong.

Anyway, I was like you once. I was even dumber than I am now. Yes aspergers sucks. You are doing it because you are rebelling against the world.

Guess what. Life sucks and it only gets worse

You know that Cuba is a communist/socialist nation, and Fidel Castro and Che Guavara are both Cuban communists and socialists. You should also know that the USA is against socialism and communism and people that practice these two systems. So if you want to keep your job and not be alienated by everyone around you, you had better stop with this Pro-Socialist or Pro-Communist behavior.

I'm not against it. However, I'm against how it's been done in the past.
