Do they look it up on some records?Do you have to tell him?By law?How do most people react to finding out?Does it ever come up?

Some work places have a form that has a checklist; you tick off all the disabilities you have/had. I never tick for AS/depression because I can cope with the former and haven't had the latter in years.

If you are in the USA, an employer cannot ask you if you have a disability or make that a determination of employment. This works in theory but in practice, not so much because they can ask if you need accomdations or tell something is off in the interview.

You also can tell your employer if you wish.

In my case, only 2 of my employers ever knew that is had any for of Autism and in both cases, it was because I said something to the boss.

You don't usually have to tell anyone anything. Of course they might suspect.

However if you are looking for DDA/ADA accommodation for a disability you'll need to disclose something. Whether that's a good idea all depends on the circumstances.
