The guys in the music shop who just take the p-ss out of their customers?

Man, that's your role in life, I swear!

Have you considered the transportation industry? Their is growth potential if you are determined. Security at night is also independent much of the time depending on site placement.

Uhhhh, you cannot opt out of paying the Social Security tax in the USA. Even if you have 100 exemptions on you W4, you still pay the 7.65% for FICA. Just be glad you are not a small business owner, they pay 15.3% 8O

yeah you can you just have to prove it's against your religion. wich i plan of doing because it is :P if i have to join the amish or mennonites to get out of a bogus program i will!! (don't make me) also ministers have the option of opting out of social security. i've always wanted to be a minister, (online of course) So there!! :D

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_Security_(United_States)

anyways i turned in one, count them one!! application to bigLots for a stocking position

The opt out is very restrictive and in many cases would preclude you from having a job. Trust me, you do not want to become Amish for the sole purpose of not paying FICA.

And besides, if you do not earn enough credits, you will not be able to take part in the program is something does happen to you to make you permenatly disabled.

There is quite a bit wrong with the Social Security System and I can start a whole new thread on that topic. I do think that it will be around in some manner by the time generation X reaches retirement age. We are just stupid if we are going to rely on the government to support us rather than relying on ourselves.

I don't expect to get 100% of the Social Security I paid into the system either (in fact, I do not expect to get much).

I do know I have racked up enough credits to utilize the system should I need to.

Consider contruction an alternitive if your fit the pay isn't that bad and once you learn something their are lots of guys who will pay you in cash. I am not advocating breaking the law just saying Cash is always good especially if nobody knows about it. I acually thought about dropping out of sight before I got married and just living on cash if you think it can't be done just look at all the illegals in constuction I know many myself do you think they are paying taxes or social security?

Actually parts, yes the illegals are paying taxes and social security. On top of that, they are not getting any benefit either. When I was in court a couple of years ago, the person ahead of me was an illegal who used a non-existant social security number. That is what they all do (by the time the Social Security department catches up with them, construction season is over and the illegals are gone.
