Confusion
A couple days ago at work I was asked if I could be on a new project. There was going to be specific training for this new project. I said yes. They said that it would be on Sunday (today). At my work we call in everyday to ask when to come in and what the shift is going to be. I was also not feeling well this morning. I called in (like we always do) and I asked if I could have a sick day. There is not another line to call for this other project. So, I take what the shift manager tells me. When they need people on that project they usually ask when you call in if you are qualified or not. They didn't ask anything. The supervisor who asked me about the training didn't tell me not to call in. So, I called in and took what the shift manager said. Is this something I should get in trouble for? Should I just have shown up for the training before calling in? Did I misinterpret this situation and now would you say I could be rightly fired for this? I didn't think about it until later, "Oh, maybe they meant for me to just show up and not call in? Is this my fault for misinterpreting or the supervisor's for not giving me specific enough instructions?"
Needless to say, I am not sure how to explain this and am nervous about having to talk with the center manager. I feel like an idiot.
