Yay! I got a phone screening interview!

The Akron Zoo down in Ohio is interested in me for a permanent, part-time job!! ! Doesn't pay much, but I'd still get my disability payments and medical coverage.

Plus it's an Animal Ambassadors job, my two internships were like that, where I would work directly with the animals and show them to people and tell them facts about them...

I didn't get tested, but whatever it was I've fully recovered. I called my doctor and he said I sound fine. I'm isolating for awhile.

Yes, when I lived in Columbus, I almost got a job at the Columbus Zoo, but blew it in the interview when I said I wanted a temporary job.

Last year, I got an AmeriCorps position at a zoo, but sadly I couldn't move...

Maybe it will be different now...

An Animal Ambassador is often an animal that either was too injured to be released back in the wild and was trained to educate, or it was born in captivity and not suitable for release, or sometimes zoos will use domestic animals. The hope is that if you see animals up close, you will end up caring more about them.
