Just been approved by my employer for "professional development" workshops & certification!! ! more exciting is that I have a desk job that has nothing to do with these workshops! I work in community health and was trained in social services...but have resigned to a life of medical administration (not such a great "social" worker:) *sigh*

Anyhow, I just registered for:

~An ABA approach to Transition Planning

~Teaching Self-Advocacy to Children & Youth with ASD's

~Future Planning by Parents for their children with Special Needs

~Make & Take to Motivate & regulate ~run by an OT, reviewing theory, research & activities to promote attention, interaction & sensory motor skills; Learning how to scaffold interaction and the Environment to support self regulation; including multi-sensory experiences, etc and creating simple low cost games & activities to help motivate children

~Building Foundation Skills in Mathematics

~Coping with Autism & Anxiety


YAY! How cool is it that they will pay for these in FULL!?! and best of all our fiscal year end is March, so I can get another $500 professional Development training allowance again!

Congrats! You sound very successful. Then again, you can't go wrong with a health care job in this country.

I'd love to do something like that.. wish I had the self-motivation/patience to study.
