I'm not really sure what to do other than to pray for some money for an Ipod so I can tune it out
If your work computer has a CD-ROM drive and a sound card, why not just use that? Or buy a $10 portable CD player from Wal-Mart.. There's no need to suffer while you're saving up to buy an ipod! Just get yourself a nice set of headphones. The big over-the-ear type is best--if you don't feel like listening to music, they still do a great job of blocking all the noise. Radio Shack usually has a good, reasonably priced selection.
My headphones were what kept me sane when I used to work in a busy office.
