I prefer Sonic over Mario, but I like them both. Of course, they do not stand a chance when compared to The Legend of Zelda, Metroid and Ace Attorney.

And ACE ATTORNEY!! !

as a young child- heck yes
i took a break from video games while moving, but then I got to own my first super mario game(rather than renting from family video)
When i got my first game, I LOVED IT.
Now that im older i like zelda a lot(BOTWs awesome by the way i recommend 10/10), but i still enjoy speedrunning through bowsers castle as much as i did when i first beat it

Autism or not, most Mario games tend to be anywhere from decent to good (from my experience).

A lot of the Autistic people I know, or who are NT's, with more Autistic traits than average - love Super Mario, whether they are male or female. I definitely think the colours and sounds of Mario are more of a sensory pleasure for Autistic folk.

Plus, it's a single-player video game from the 1990's, originally, back when a good portion of gamers were Autistic folk and when a lot of NT's thought video-games were for 'nerds'.

Personally, I have no interest in Mario. :|

People, autistic or not, would remain interested in Mario if they liked it. Not everyone who is autistic likes the same thing.

I find this to be an interesting question, as, while I do not particularly care for the art-style or characters of Mario, I find the gameplay itself incredibly addictive. My favorite Nintendo franchise though, is Donkey Kong Country, as it combines the addictive gameplay of mario with a world and characters I can relate to and invest myself in. Yes, I know that sounds silly, but I've always found it easier to identify with apes and monkeys than other humans. Plus, the kong family are so diverse! Even the ones who share the same basic model as DK (Funky and Swanky for example) are well designed enough in other respects and given so much personality that you barely notice them being reskins.

Let's say if autistics are interested in Super Mario they're more likely to be obsessed with it.

I prefer Mario Karts, Mario Party series or anything with Yoshi.

I’ve played many, many Mario games in my life, but I’m more of a Zelda fan. I like to get caught up in a fantasy story.

Growing up, I found that many neurotypicals were more interested in Mario than I was.
