Tetris on the NES, idk how old I was but my mom's boyfriend at the time paused his game and got up to go to the bathroom, and I unpaused it and started playing. I didn't know what I was doing or remember anything after that. I think maybe Super Mario Bros. on the NES was the first game I played correctly.

Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt came on the same cartridge when I purchased my Nes. Was quite amazing, although I can't recall which one I did first. Duck hunt perhaps, because of the gun.

My Little Pony Friendship Gardens (PC)- 1998

Utterly thrilling to a 5yr old.

10/10 would recommend as any kids first PC game

Earliest game I can remember playing is Super Mario 64.

It was either for my 4th birthday in June 2000 or Christmas 2000 but I got a Nintendo 64 that year and after my dad got it hooked up to the living room TV, I remember just sitting in front of the TV for what felt like hours playing Mario - but it was probably more like a couple hours at the most.

I'm totally not sure what the first game I played was. I know I played on an old... Spectrum? Amstrad? The first game I have distinct memories of was Revenge of Shinobi, because it gave me nightmares. The final boss crushing the girl in the cage behind him while you fought him was pretty horrifying for a kid, especially since trying to save her was futile if you didn't bring the power-up from the maze. Quality game though.

Pong. Gosh I'm old. :(

My parents once had some kind of a console that I think came from Sears, and all it played was different variations of Pong. I wonder how much it would sell for on ebay?
