Why are American-made games so much darker?

well its better than the bolocks from japan. No offense, but their games are all so.... .PONCY! I dont want to play as some very feminie man with a swrod 3 times his height, who look like a woman, and talks like one.

I think it has to do with our culture. Here in the US, violence is acceptable while sex is taboo. It's the total opposite in Japan. Compare sales numbers: Halo and Call of Duty games sell millions of copies in the west; while in Japan I don't even think they've came close sell a million copies there.

The Japanese like things to be cute, as it is part of there culture. That is why some of their cars are design the way they are, so they can be cute.
