I always get antsy around patch time...anyone else up for the Crusaders' Coliseum?

I'm pretty excited.. except for me a new patch means long download time -.-.

^^ May I please ask, when shall patch 3.2 be released? I am very sorry for this, I often miss happy little details. ^^ I believe the patch shall be very magical. I often have trouble accumulating monies within the game, and thus the fact that costs of riding shall be decreased shall be very useful for me. On the other, my character is level 66 as of the moment and I am saving for epic riding training and an epic mount. I currently possess approxaimtely 480 gold, yet am worried that the patch shall be released very soon after I have spent my monies.

I'm real bad at saving gold too. I still haven't got around to saving for epic flying yet, and I have 3 soon to be 4 toons that need it! Looks like some good things happening in this patch. I hate this whole p2p way of downloading patch information though as you are reliant on someone being ahead of you and it takes freaking ages to do. I still don't have the pre-patch download done, far from it. I play most days and the download is going all day and I'm still only about 100mb out of 468 done

Best guess on release for 3.2 is sometime in late August. The background patch download currently in use is an attempt to address the question of long download times; rather than keeping the whole thing until it's all done, they're taking the parts of the patch that test out well and attempting to "frontload" them into as many systems as possible, using a peer-to-peer (p2p) network based on the existing Blizzard Downloader software. As such, the background download will never actually be complete until Patch Day. However, when the final patch is released, you'll already have some of it waiting on your hard drive; your computer will just need to download the parts you don't have, then install the whole thing, which should go much more quickly.

I have heard reports that the patch will also include sidecars for the cycles - can't wait to see some dwarven paladin cruising the mean streets of Ironforge on his Mekgineer's Chopper, his faithful night-elf rogue companion in the sidecar, a Jeeves robot mounted behind serving as their mobile shop and bank...

You can already get cycles with sidecar, I've taken the tour of IF in one.

yeah you already have cycles with sidecars as long as the person is in it. Before I quit the game I spent 2 days farming the motorycles mats and made myself one. I took screenshots of my cycle and the Blizzard bear minipet. My guildmates before called my a gold farmer because I took time to get 3 of my characters epic mounts and my main 55+ mounts, a motorycle. I'm already retired from the game but this thread made me remember some stuff.

Heh, i got most of my mount money from questing ^^; the 5k gold becomes easy after 2-3 zones of completed quests in Northrend... ignoring the ones you've used for leveling up. :p

I think patch 3.2 has just come out today! Yay!

i'm honestly not striving very hard to get my epic flyer, i have a magnificent flying carpet (that's collecting dust in my GB) and one of those dragons you get from H CoS (starving in my GB). i just recently for my duel spec (priest pveholy/pvedisc for that flexibility in raids) and i'm spending money constantly on alts and such. really you only need a normal flyer for annoying things like Naxx and stuff but even that doesn't NEED mount, especially now that the mount speed went from 60% to 150% i have even less incentive to get 4.9k more gold

I finally saved the gold for my epic flying training, won a roll on epic flyer from CoS hc. I find that it is easier to farm for mats with an epic flyer though as people are zooming around racing each other to get to the ores/herbs so it helps to be able to keep up with them now. It only took me a few days to save for as well. Now I'm really poor on there, with about 10g left

I managed to get the new patch downloaded to my wife's computer (mine has been having - er - issues), and got the rides for my lower-level characters (and the upgraded mount for my 55th-lvl Warrior). Then the system crashed, and had to be restored to an earlier save. So that meant I had to download the WoW software again, then reinstall the patches. And by the time I finished reinstalling 3.2.0, my prepaid card had expired.

Go fig.

<shrug> Oh well, I should be able to come up with another thirty bucks in a month or so...

Keep backup patch files on a portable hard drive or removable thingy. That way if you know something happens. It won't suck to redownload those patches.

The annoying thing now is that I can't get into any low level instances on my alts because it is constantly 'additional instances cannot be launched'. My 65 shammy hasn't been able to get into an instance since a couple of days after the patch came out

I'm quite annoyed at the new patch, since I paid full price for all the mounts: 100G for the first, 600G for the second, 1000G for the third, and 5000G for the epic flyer. I could have saved so much gold if I'd waited a bit longer

Will it help any to know that when the next expansion, Cataclysm, comes out in about a year's time, you'll be able to use your flying mount in Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms?
