I really enjoy playing Multiplayer games on PlayStation Network... Metal Gear Online is what I mainly play.

It was difficult to me trying to socialize in online games at the beginning, but this help me for being more self confident, and learn some skills to cope with the real world

I made some friends on PSN, and this summer I met in real life some of my MGO clan pals

I'm a girl gamer, and I rarely use my microphone (sometimes I don't want other players know I'm a woman ). I only talk to my clan friends, they are so nice ^_^

Any of the Call of Duty series are amazing when played ONLINE ! !!

If you play online you are playing against other people who make the same mistakes as you do rather than the single player where you play against the computer.

You guys have got to try Free For All / Team Deathmatch or whatever ! !! !

Nobody picks on you for making mistakes because thay are all too busy trying to kill everything in sight.

I am talking about the PC version here not the other lesser versions , of course.

i generally have the most fun playing single player games, i generally only play multiplayer with friends (online or at the same console) because although i like multiplayer games, i dislike getting shouted at by random as*holes.

I play a little bit of Modern Warfare 2 on xbox live. When I play with friends (among other random people) I just mute everyone except for my friends. I just started playing a few weeks ago and just learned how to mute people earlier this week Whenever I don't mute people in time and can just hear random people talking I remain completely silent.

When it's with just a bunch of random people I don't even wear the headset.

I enjoy multiplayer gaming on PlayStation Network.

Unless I am playing with my friends or with my clan I usually just ignore all non-game related talk. I usually don't say anything at all when playing with random people and just use a headset for the rare occasion when I play with people who are really focused on the game.

Although I like single player games too, I enjoy multiplayer online games more. Ironically I enjoy multiplayer games more, but I find being social online almost as hard for me as in real life.

I play World of Warcraft and I have never really made friends or been social in a guild. I'm mostly nervous about talking to people on voice chats too. I wish I could fit in and feel like a part of the guild but it's just as hard online as in reality for me. Anyone else have the same experience?

I played Left 4 Dead recently and there was just me and my brother playing trying to get an achievement. My brother was killed, and I managed to get so close to the safe room, I got incapacitated and bot [LOUIS] saw me, and stood there watching me for a few seconds before doing something. I thought the bot was going to leave me to die.

Human players are prone to friendly fire. Bots are better at NOT shooting the player - regardless of how many times your deliberatly run in front of them while they are firing.

Hrmph. I don't mind playing MMORPGs (it's only been WoW though) but i can't seem to find people with good grammar and it honestly hurts my eyes. -.- If i can find more mature(-like) players, it's rather enjoyable though.

I almost always am playing MP unless it's an RTS or certain other games, but for MP, I ONLY play PC, and only in mature communities. Kids who act like idiots tend to tick me off.

For singleplayer, right now it's a focus on:
Men of War
GTA 4
Fallout 3 (When it's not crashing constantly)


FSX and X-Plane 9 occasionally as well, however I recently have been pissed at the community enough to say screw it for now, along with another game, where the developers had the urge to screw with me, so I decided to stop playing it for a while, I've only played 10 hours since APRIL of 2009 to give you an idea of my feelings toward them right now... I won't explain much more about that, as that's not important.

I prefer online plaay even though I tend to he the one bitching about lackluster flag coverage on MW2

I played Quake 3 and currently am playing Quake Live, been doing so for about 5 years, which for me is nice because there is no VoIP and 1 vs. 1 play is encouraged, so I have no reason to get frustrated at anybody but myself. Same deal in StarCraft: Brood War. Met some nice people in both games. Some years ago I tried playing CounterStrike: Source when it was the most popular online FPS and while there's some nice people playing the game, I can't stand alot of the people who play it, nor talking to them since to play well as a team you need to be able to communicate via voice chat. I can't imagine what games likes Modern Warfare 2 are like with even bigger communities.

These days though I tend to prefer single player games, but still enjoy the occasional multiplayer match.

I like completing a game solo but I enjoy the competitive side of multiplayer. I first discovered it through THAW and then moved on to Halo 2. When I got my 360 I spent most of my day playing Halo 3 online. It got boring after about a year so I tried Lost Planet, BF:BC, COD4, Red Faction, Skate 2, and finally COD MW2. I'm still playing COD and I've made it into prestige mode. My rank and K/D spread are important to me. I also like the tactical aspect of online shooters. You have to be aware of your surroundings (on screen). You also have to think ahead and guess what your oppenents' moves will be. I prefer that to running in blindly. Getting killed every 2 seconds can be frustrating. The only bad thing about online is the social part. I feel pressured to talk to people but I don't really want to. I never use my head set to talk unless I know the person. I used to try talking but it took the fun out of gaming.

I like playing TF2 and CS2 on Steam, but I dont like using a mic, I'll only type messages. same on xbox live I only use the mic if I know someone.
