Been playing The End is Night pretty hard lately. A really good (and brutal platformer) from the creator of Super Meat Boy and The Binding Of Isaac. About 70% complete and hoping to get 100% in the next week or so!

Plays Forza games exclusively.

Recently 'Forza Horizon 4' when bootcamp plays nicely with Windows 10 on my MacBook Pro with NVIDIA eGPU.

Thankfully works on most occassions :)

I experienced something new today.

I experienced a frustration so great while playing Metroid: Samus Returns that I wanted to throw my 3DS at the wall.

This is bloody amazing so far. Though the REALLY odd part is that there's only 8 characters available when you start... hoboy it's going to take awhile to unlock everyone, isnt it.

On a side note, apparently Joker from Persona is confirmed as one of the DLC characters. I just... I... what? How? Why? It makes just as much sense as Cloud Strife getting into the game (and if you havent played Smash in awhile, Cloud was added in later DLC for Smash 4. No, I dont know why).

Right now I'm mostly just wanting to unlock the many new characters. Particularly King K.Rool, who was the character I voted for in the Smash Ballot back when that was happening.

I also like that they brought back that whole thing with the Amiibos again. That was a very bizarre experimental concept in the previous game, but people ended up really liking it. There's just something extra hilarious about watching your own specific trained Amiibo character beat down one trained by your friend.

I havent tried online play yet. I aint touching that for awhile, probably. So much to learn and also I'd bet their servers are on fire right now...

^Oh, Joker's in it? That's great! :D

From the looks of things, Metroid Samus Returns just gets harder. It's already been a frustrating uphill battle, and I'm only in Area 2 of 8.
I've been hoping and wishing for a Metroid game for the 3DS, but it's almost not even fun, struggling just to make a bit of progress.

Have spent some time today tweaking the settings for Skyrim VR and i can finally play it without feeling nauseous - much. I could play Fallout 4 VR out of the box without feeling sick (heading into Boston and looking down from the skyscrapers is good therapy if you're afraid of heights).

It's a good experience overall, but i feel more obliged to play it since i've finished twice already and i'm only "out for a stroll" in the game for now. The giants really feel like they should be left alone, the controls are sorta good, i don't like it that it is so easy to equip things rather than just loot stuff, had to go into the menu several times to get rid of swords and axes from the hands of my mage.

Though if you DO use a sword, just wave it around like crazy and enemies die fast. You also have to make sure you aim your dominant hand (can be chosen) to the NPC you want to talk to, or you pick things up when you click, causing them to go nuts and accuse you of stealing :P The settings were set to modest graphics, i had to crank it up even with a 1070, it can run with significantly higher settings.

Wish i hadn't played it earlier and could jump into this as a new experience.

Still more Smash. Perhaps too much Smash.

I finally unlocked both K. Rool and Isabelle. I dont know why I took such a liking to Isabelle, but suddenly I had to have her... took ages to get her to show up.

Worth the wait. She fits my loopy playstyle perfectly. Subsequent fights werent so much "fights" as they were massacres. Her moveset is so freaking odd... I'd expected her to be totally similar to Villager but her moveset is significantly different. The tree move that Villager had is replaced by the... er... "plant a rocket in the ground for no reason" thing (which will then activate and shoot upwards if the opponent steps on it, or it can be set off remotely with no animation on Isabelle's part), and the side rocket is replaced by the fishing rod... I'm convinced the fishing rod is one of the best special moves in the game. I'm glad I changed my control setup though to have the right stick do tilt attacks as she's extremely dependant on them. Her tilt attacks are unusually strong (a trait normally reserved for heavy characters like Bowser), while her smash attacks are unusually hard to hit with. She does though have what's probably the worst basic jab attack in the game so far.

K. Rool is also good, as I'd hoped he'd be. I tend to like heavy characters in fighting games since they're so tanky, and he works very well as one. What makes him unusual for a heavy though is his ranged attacks... usually heavy characters dont do those much, but he has two projectiles and both are excellent. If you hit with the crown, it can hit a second time and combo into his other projectile, which then follows up with the Bizarro Vacuum or whatever it is. Anything this guy does hits like a freight train. Very good recovery move too, though it's mostly useless for doing damage. Isabelle has that same trait.

More Metroid: Samus Returns.

Things are slightly easier now that I have the Varia Suit and High Jump Boots, but not by much.

I really don't think I like Sleeping Dogs. It feels like a wannabe Yakuza game that plays more like Grand Theft Auto and it doesn't even have the things that made Yakuza games great like a coherent plot and likable characters.

Plus you can tell this game was made by Westerners because it really stereotypes the hell out of Asians. The Yakuza games had a more authentic feel of Asian culture.

I thought about getting that game, but I'm still kind of on the fence about it.

^I'm the type to always play on Easy if it's an option, and the fact that M:SR doesn't have one and is way tougher than Zero Mission, which is what I'm used to playing, doesn't help.

In terms of frustration, just be happy it is not the original Metroid 2. Hearing someone having a lot of trouble with it, I might be interested in the type of problem, I had played, struggled, and won all the previous Metroid games before playing Samus Returns, so I was kind of ready. If my memory serves, I think Samus Returns is a lot more dynamic than others in the series, the trick kind of came down to perfecting the new counter move, knowing when to do it on different opponents, not being afraid that it might take a little while to get them. I think there was also a trick in focusing on avoiding, before you can hold down the left shoulder button to have Samus stand still and you can have her shoot in different directions, useful for some of the enemies that can be too hard to fight straight on. And I knew there were new Aion abilities that add new things.

Don't know what this says about me, but hearing that you are struggling a bit, makes me think that it is all the more reason to stick with it, when you get it down it should be an accomplishment of growth. Actually, what it really says is that I am a Dark Souls and Bloodborne player.

Metroid Zero Mission is my favourite.

I've played a fair bit of Prime and Prime 3, but never got even halfway.

I'd really like to play Super Metroid, but I don't have a super deluxe 3DS.

I got really far in Fusion, but then gave up when I got to the spider boss.

I made it to Area 3, but now I'm stuck again. :skull:

Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4. Pretty bad game even by Lego game standards, but I have it installed on my computer and can play it without a mouse (only have trackpad), so I thought I might kill some time with it.
