Has anybody ever played the new super mario bros for Nintendo DS? I've played the game on the 1st level, but couldn't go very far?

I'm actually playing it right now in preparation for NSMB2's release. My only complaint about this game is that it's WAY too easy. Other than that it's classic old school 2D Mario at its finest.

I have though now I haven't bothered... Did get up to one point... then just used codes for power ups.

I've never really been into New Super Mario Bros. It's too easy.

A lot of people have complained about this. I personally found the difficulty level of this game perfect. Challenging but not too challenging.

I prefer the RPG Mario games, like Bowser's Inside Story. But it is a decent enough game.

I like Super mario Bros. 3 and Paper Mario..the rest just feels too hard or too easy.

Props to SUper Mario for inspiring platformers though...I would still rather play Mario levels on LittleBigPlanet!

Maybe I'm just good at Mario games in general. I remember back in 1991 I had quite the crowd watching me play the new Super Mario World at Kmart because I was blowing through the game. Again, that's another game that was way too easy as well. NSMB wouldn't have been so bad if 1-ups were handed out like candy: easily got 99 lives by World 5 or 6.

I, too, think NSMB had the right difficulty. It didn't make it insanely hard, but had unique levels. The coins were where the challenge was.

But the NSMB on the Wii had horrible controls and I hate it. >.<

I had a ton of fun playing NSMB on the DS. Maybe it would be too easy for me now, but the difficulty was just right for me back when I was... however old I was then. NSMB Wii is even better.
