I'd love a game where you could be a Toy Soldier based on GI joe, and the game could be like BF3, or CODMW, and the maps would look like things like kitchens, living rooms, and backyards! I remember the Army Men games... I loved those... anyone else enjoy that?

I want a game like this! why can't we have more toy soldier themed games?

Well, if an Army Men game came out these days, it could either be bland like MW3, or it could actually be unique. One would hope for the latter. But I remember the early ones had PC versions with self-hosted rooms (I think...), with quality old-school running around and shooting, so you could still play those.

There's also Battalion Wars 1 and 2. I know they're not toys, but they sure can look and act like them at times, because of the cutesy art-style. Just a suggestion.

Came across a game called world of padman a years ago, it's essentially a first person shooter except the players are miniature and the maps are of rooms etc, quite cool. Might be worth a look.

MW3 bland? Okay, I'll bite. Which FPS is exciting?

to be honest, I'm only going by what I heard, I never played MW3. but personally I think battlefield Play4free is quite exciting! I also play Battlefaild 1943 but that ones not too exciting,
but it's something to do until Sony decides to let someone make a decent PS3 toy soldier game...
I want them to make a PS3 toy soldier game so bad!

Battalion Wars is on Gamecube, and the sequel for Wii. I doubt it'll be released elsewhere because they're part of the Famicom Wars series.

And as for calling MW3 bland, it's generally because it's the same as MW2 and MW1. It also doesn't improve the formula at all. CoD 2 was a lot more challenging in both campaign and multiplayer, too. However, I still prefer old-school, as do many hardcore FPS gamers (Even though they don't show up in those silly MW3 tournaments.).
Games like DOOM, Duke Nukem 3D, Quake, Serious Sam, Unreal. The games where you run and gun, instead of hiding behind a rock or sitting prone until you enemies cross your path. If I wanted to play that, I would play Sniper: Ghost Warriors, or many of the other realistic shooters out there like America's Army.
Truth be told, I wouldn't play Halo, either, if it didn't have challenging AI and some run 'n' gun aspects.
But hey, to each his own. I'm more hardcore than casual, so this is my preference.

I've always thought a GI Joe game would be awesome, since there's so many characters to choose from. Obviously there are a few games, but none of them really live up to their potential.

I'd rather have it take place in appropriate environments rather than go with "they're toys" gimmicks, though.

Also, I guess this game is supposed to be inspired by GI Joe (and Metroid), but I've not played it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shadow_Complex
