Anyone else absolutely likes it? I even like MIDI versions of it - see http://www.midishrine.com/index.php?site=other e.g. - very nice Final Fantasy medleys.

I just learned about this idea the other day from my brother.

That video game music, or new music that mimics the traditional video game style, is a whole music genre unto itself. Called 8-bit (because the popular NES had 8-bit graphics), there's a whole fan base for this stuff. I had no idea.

Side note: I always loved the music to the original Legend of Zelda for Nintendo (the one with the golden cartridge). Not just the video game music, but I also have a piano version and an orchestral version. One of the best video game scores ever...but I'm not much into video games.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CBTZqO83WQ I love this music so much I now have the desire to be a video game music composer like Jeremy Soule, the man behind the music I linked.

Bastion had a pretty spiffy soundtrack, and I frequent ocremix.org which is for choice remixes of game music. You might also enjoy a genre of music called chiptune.

The zelda series has some of the best music in my opinion...

F-zero GX has amazing music, i like them all!

Command and Conquer also has incredible music. It's hard to believe it's from 1995 when you hear the music.

I also love Final fantasy 7, 8 and 9 music. It gives me a huge nostalgic rush whenever i hear them.

I much rather listen to video game music than "normal" music. :P

Yes!

A bit choppy at the beginning, but I couldn't find a better version. Pretty bad game, but great music.

Again, pretty bad game (but I liked it) with great music.

Several years ago, I would just sit and listen to the starcraft music and do homework to music from Halo. Now Bioshock and Fallout have gotten me interested in very 40's and 50's old songs.

I enjoyed this track from Mass Effect 3, it's interesting how they weaved Shepards PTSD into the track. (the sound of those giant reaper crawly thingies).

But probably my favorite song from a videogame is Tom Bombadil's theme in Lord of the Rings Online:

I heard it also on PC. Childhood memories...

I remember doing math homework to this music.

This is the first game I've tested on something compatible with AdLib/SoundBlaster 16 (instead of PC Speaker). That was the power.

Other catchy tune, I've played the DEMO version only, but remembered this track to this day.
