Is this a cool idea for a campaign setting for some RPG:

In an alternate reality where the Cold War was stilll going, Soviets caused nuclear explosions in the Atlantic ocean to create giant sea monsters(basically Kaiju type creatures). The Americans have to fight these things with special radation draining bacteria and specially designed vehicles to fight the beasts.

By the way, this isn't connected to Pacific Rim, despite what you might think. Haven't even seen that movie. The Kaiju are more like giant squid monsters, Rodan, Gamera, or other, even weirder things. There would be some lizard monsters, but there would be just as many (if not more) arthropods, flying creatures, and cephalopods.

Thoughts?

There's a very similar thing, CthulhuTech.

It kind of reminds me of Godzilla.... the 1950s one.

Any time a "giant monster" is involved, no good can come from it
