lol at "epic NEW adventure"....I remember when they were new on GBA ( heck, I remember when the original SMB was new lol ). A remake really isn't a new adventure, though they will undoubtedly add new features like fairy type, training, Pokemon-Amie and all the Pokemon added after gen 3.

Totally buying OmegaRuby.

I'm completely overexcited by this. Thought there would be a Z first if I'm being honest but Hoenn remake sounds just as good. Gotta be Sapphire for me. I always go for the bluest one first!!

This is some of the only Pokemon news I could ever be hyped about. I don't have the attention span to enjoy it as much as I used to, but Gen 3 will always hold a special place with me.

Personally I always felt that Gen III was the weakest of the ones I've played (I-IV). In some ways the original Gen II games (I spent more time on G/S than any other gen, having caught all legal pokemon in it) felt more fully-featured (at least in Johto) and had more pokemon and more stuff to do and collect and see. Hoenn just didn't feel the same without the day-night cycle or variety of time-sensitive mechanics. I dunno, maybe part of Gen II's charm was the newness of it all. Back in the day, just seeing pokemon in color (not even backlit) and knowing your Game Boy kept track of time was something of a novelty.

EDIT: Also, there was the complete discontinuity with Gen I/II, a necessity as the pokemon data structure was completely overhauled.

I'd like to remain optimistic that these remakes will correct Gen III's flaws. 8)

Damn you Nintendo. If you had just released a new pokemon game I wouldn't even consider buying a 3ds. You have me caught in your money grabbing trap.

Generation III has always been my favorite. It was the first generation where I fully played through the game. Generation IV was ok, never played V or VI. I and II were ok, but never really did it for me.

Gen 3 was my least favorite because of the introduction of IVs, but I think I'll still pick this one up. I love Pokemon (just hate the grind to be competitive).

I'm so excited about this. Ruby and Sapphire were great Pokemon games. It's kind of sad that that you couldn't transfer your old Pokemon to the new game. But it was still great. I hope that they continue to use the Amie from Pokemon X and Y and bring back the hideouts from the original games. Having a hideout was so much fun.

I'm just a little bit disappointed that it sounds like it might not be as 3D as Pokemon X and Y. But it's still sounds really exciting and I can't wait to get it.
