Have you ever been so depressed that you couldn't play games

...anymore? Or you certainly do not play them at the rate you played them before, especially new ones?

I actually am having the opposite problem. I feel so depressed I WISH I could play a game, like WoW, or something just to dull how I was feeling right now because I can't concentrate on anything right now (long-ish story). My internet connection has been garbage for two weeks though so I can't play anything since 96% of the games I have are online or require a connection (steam).

If anything video games help with depression. I'm not depressed right now but I am insanely paranoid(like scary paranoid). Video games help me distract myself. So that means I'll probably play all freaking day today for the next month or even forever.

If you mean depressed in the medical sense, I haven't had that. However, I'm feeling quite rubbish and as such don't feel like doing any chess work, when I should be .

I guess so? I get into ruts where no game really satisfies me and I get very ADHD like and cant decide on what game to play... When usually I will stick with a game.

No motivation to play and even if I tried to force myself to play something I couldn't pay enough attention to the game and ended up playing so bad it depressed me even more.
I also had trouble starting to play new games.
I mostly did some old routines on an RPG game but couldn't really play it.

For some reason it got kinda stuck that I cannot play new games that easily anymore or maybe I am still a bit depressed, don't know..


When you are depressed you really cannot focus or enjoy any game, no matter how fun games used to be.. And online games are depressive because you have to be alone and cannot really enjoy it alone.
I wish there still was those old games with splitscreen function or similar, I miss the gaming sessions with my friends with splitscreen.. You could have fun and enjoy the game, nowadays its just competition who is better and the foul language and childish insults against other players.
Where is all the fun of gaming there was few years ago? What happend to games, gamers or gaming systems?

Yes, I am at the moment not playing any games (not even the ones in my now playing list).

Play a game like League of Legends; lose a few games and get too depressed to play; feel better; rinse and repeat (lose; break; play). ^^;

A few times at most, though I also think I become bored and feel that it's boredom rather than depression.

Not depressed but distracted and overwhelmed( for quite a long while due to personal reasons) and it was a horrible experience. Thankfully im back to normal now and i'm really appreciating it.

Yep. In great depression, I'll start a game, quit soon or mid-way, and repeat until something makes me happier.

Sucks, because I really want to get in the mood to beat Crisis Core, then maybe Ninja Gaiden Black and the DMC HD set I picked up.

Last year I was too depressed to do anything due to masturbation 10+x a day. Then I complained about why I couldn't get anything done.
It's definitely the AS and lack of maturity and common sense

I get depressed about the fact that I get depressed that I can't play video-games because I'm depressed. It's like a depression trifle.
