It was one of my first Gameboy games, and I had a lot of fun playing it. I thought it was almost as good as SMB 1 (which set the standard of Mario games for me, what a great game it was), and even the music was fitting for their specific stages. I have fond memories of that game.

It's only for the original Gameboy unfortunately. I wish there was a remake of this fun game.

It was the one that people didnt like. Which always bothered me. My favorite of the entire Mario series was always the very first Super Mario (well, until Mario Maker, but a huge part of that game is in fact the very first Super Mario, so it still counts), and Mario Land was basically the Gameboy's version of that. The second Mario Land didnt play anything like that.

Also it was just really unique, even for Mario. Very quirky. I mean, really, Tatanga... easily the strangest of the villain characters. Among all sorts of other forms of weirdness. Granted the second game was also very strange (giant Mario robot world, the moon, the rather unsettling thing with the hippo...) but wasnt quite the same.

I have this game on my 3DS, I go back to it every now and then as I've always loved it.

out of all the Mario jump-n-runs i have played, this one has aged the worst. The sequel, SML2 is actually one of my favorite Mario games.

I'm surprised, I thought people knew that Nintendo made a Super Mario Run for Apple app, it is not ready yet, but you can sign up to get notified when it is ready.

I played it when I was a kid, and I really liked it. I should replay it.

I liked this game, but once I got good at video games, I found it to be too short. The warp pipe areas are too repetitive. I got a kick out of defeating the bosses with super balls or torpedoes because they would say "baaaah" every time they were hit.

I never played this game when I was a kid until I was an adult. I was still in high school when I played it. I didn't have a original Game Boy is why and I didn't know anyone who did. Plus no one brought theirs to school.

I know SML was the first game where Daisy made her game debut. Here is the overworld theme song

I used to love playing Super Mario Land! I loved the ending theme. It's so upbeat!

Also I used to love playing Wario Land, which was the third Mario Land game.

I'm hoping whatever the Switch Mario game ends up being called takes a few cues from Land actually. Aesthetically at least. Not that I want it to be a bright green color, but just in terms of locales. Getting really tired of the standard level tropes they use in all the "New" games and then in 3D Land and 3D World, and a return to Sarasland or similarly offbeat places would be super fun, especially in a 3D space. First footage of Switch Mario seems to include Mario running towards a Samba De Amigo-esque town, so here's hoping!
