Final Fantasy 3 DS I can't get the Ultima Weapon

I need help getting the Ultima Weapon. This is what I've tried.

1) I sent 7 messages out to other players. (Has I've already unlocked Onion knight class and the hidden dungeon)

2) I sent four messages to Sara untill she sent her fourth reply asking for help because her pendent broke.

3) I took the pendent to Takka and he said he couldn't fix it.

4) I sent 5 messages to Takka untill he sent is fith reply telling me about Orichalum.

6) I then went to the legendary Smith to get Sara's pendent fixed

7) I returned the Pendent to Sara

I send four messages to Cid and he replys to only three of them so I can't get the monster in his basement quest.

I've tried sending Cid more messages and still no fourth reply.

Do you have any idea what I'm doing wrong? It's driving me crazy.
