You simply can't consume without producing because on the macrolevel they are one and the same.

"Consumption" is not production.

If I buy a home this year, then that sale goes into the GDP.
If next year I sell, and someone else buys that same home, that sale goes into the GDP.
If another person buys that same home, that sale goes into the GDP.

One home could mean millions dollars of "GDP growth". Despite the home actually declining in value.

What part of "on the macrolevel" don't you understand? It's fundamentally different form microeconomics because it's a closed system. You can't use microeconomic arguments like an individual's actions for macroeconomics.

Actually right now, I believe we should deport illegals (I don't care what race or religion) and close the borders down to all immigration. Then Immigration can begin again in an orderly fashion once the borders are secure. So, no, not just Muslims. Does that make you happier?

You clearly know NOTHING about how immigration works. Shutting down out borders would devastate our country because on a day to day basis immigration is extremely important for our economy. It would be a human rights disaster because this would ruin the lives of countless people who need to travel across the border regularly. Finally it would just be the worst foreign policy disaster the US has ever had and it would make literally every other country hate the US. Shutting down the borders is about the absolute stupidest thing we could do.

(Also, how are we supposed to close down the borders if they aren't secure? If you shut down the borders ONLY illegal immigrants would enter the US)

I said when the borders are secure.

Do you know when all the Ebola stuff was going on, we were the only nation that didn't close our borders? All other countries have no problem closing their borders. We didn't even stop flights coming in from high risk zones. Nuts.

No, you didn't. You said the borders should be REOPENED once they are secure.

Pretty sure that Ebola claim is a blatant lie and I'm pretty sure I actually did international traveling during that time period. Unless you mean "only country with an ebola infestation" and that's because 1. the outbreak was relatively extremely small in the US and 2. the other countries weren't nearly as involved in the global economy as the US is.

And somewhere, I can't find it now, I know that England started closing its borders to incoming flights. I was an expert on the Ebola crap, so much so, that I lost my job over it. So don't tell me I'm wrong unless you know for damn sure that I am and back it up with reasonable sources.

I'm rude? You're the one calling people names and saying they are wrong and you are always right. I don't think you know what rude means.

And another thing, I hate rudeness. I didn't become rude until I came to this site and posted in the PPR section. This site has some of the most rudest people I have ever met in my entire life. Sometimes you have to fight fire with fire and that's what I try to do. Otherwise, in real life, I'm a lady.

There is huge difference between closing airports to a particular country, and closing down the borders. The first is something we do all the time, the second is something completely unreasonable because it would throttle the global economy. Again, it's pretty obvious you don't understand how immigration works, as the ebola thing is something completely different.

I only called one person I a name, and I said that was mistake. Meanwhile, you continue to insult all liberals in an extremely childish. I also specifically said I'm not always right, the problem is YOUR attitude. The only reason I've been rude to you is because you were rude first.I highly doubt you're not rude in life.

Look people are entitled to their own opinion its part of someone's basic freedom and we should not just work to change that. If you are not fooled by what she says leave it at that but by continuing a dispute you are making the matter worse no one's opinion is going to change and drama will be created.

I'm not insulting anyone. Sorry if telling what is happening in the news is upsetting to you. Liberals are extremely insulting and doing obnoxious behavior at this time, so any news about them is going to sound insulting.

You should read my Truth thread because I tried to keep it a clean debate thread and that's probably why it stayed open so long, however, I had to turn people in right and left because of the crap they said to me and the names they called me. Those people are the rude ones. That's why I reported you because you were starting the name calling all over again. I haven't seen Sly in this thread since.

When you're talking about politics that argument doesn't work, because people make action based on their opinions, and if their opinion was completely uninformed that it leads to the determent of society. If that excuse flied, we wouldn't even have this board.

Look some of that might be your perception that you have done nothing wrong. I know their have been times when I have gotten into arguments, blamed the other person for causing it whilst not quite realizing how provocative I was being. A good idea might just be to look back at some previous posts. I would honestly hate to see this discussion deteriorate into a vicious argument as was quite interested in hearing more of your perspective.

When you're talking about politics that argument doesn't work, because people make action based on their opinions, and if their opinion was completely uninformed that it leads to the determent of society. If that excuse flied, we wouldn't even have this board.
Well isn't freedom to opinion a basic human right in Democracy, I mean without it what we may be having is a single dictatorship dominated by own ideology, and no different opinion to challenge the so called truth.

Political opinions are someone's core beliefs and sometimes can be source of identity and pride. When we chastise someone because of it what they think what we do is work towards making them feel less and stupid. I do not see why we should do that kind of behavior if it makes people feel less about themselves.

I wrote a long reply, but lost it and I have other things to do right now. Maybe I'll compose something again when this site starts working right or when some hot news becomes available.

Time to knit and watch some reality TV.

Having a right to an opinion does NOT mean you can't be chastised for having said opinion. That would be equally undemocratic, as it would go against freedom of speech, and it would result in everyone forming their own bubble of ignorance rather than any real dialogue happening.

The problem is people think being point out as being ignorant is an insult, rather than an invitation to become informed.

Maybe you should just not as this is all completely off topic and we already established how mad we are at each other. :P

You can prove someone wrong without the name calling. I think it's rude to call someone ignorant. That statement is unnecessary. The same with the words stupid, fool, dumb, etc. I'm sure that I'm not the only person here who has been on a debate team. You don't say anything here that wouldn't be permitted in a real debate and you back up your facts with sources.

You think I'm mad? I'm a Taurus. When I get mad, it's like a bull in a China shop.

Again, the only person I insulted was sly. Saying you don't know anything about a subject isn't an insult, it's a statement of fact. You can't learn something if you assume you already know it.

This isn't a formal debate, and it's never going to be.

If you don't want to debate like a normal person, then don't be addressing my posts and expect an answer. Got that? This is a news and debate thread - I started it and expect it to be that way. You want to act out in other ways that are unproductive, not informative, and insulting then do it in another thread. Thank you so very much.

I wonder if Amazon sells any past "Celebrity Apprentice" shows. I would like to watch some classic Trump reality TV.
