The two don't necessarily go together. Visit my church and you'll find some of the farthest left-wing people around, but all very devout Christians. I'm almost certainly the most conservative person in the congregation, and I would probably be classified as at the very least liberal-leaning. And there are a fair number of right-wing atheists as well.

You are more left leaning than you care to admit Mr Orwell, one day I will bring you across from the dark side 8)

Interesting,

If true your statement should have you questioning the type of people who believe in Christ. According to you the folks with the greatest amount of social awareness, and compassion for the poor and oppressed are atheist, extrapolate that to its logical conclusion (possibly a strawman  ) then it is the right wing judgemental and less compassionate types that follow Jesus.

Mmmmmm makes me wonder which group Big J would identify with

Perhaps. Compared to the rest of my church, though, I'm a right-wing nut.

Jesus carefully avoided taking clear political stances, much to the chagrin of the Pharisees who wanted to try to trap Him into saying something wrong. I suspect He'd be the same today.

Thanks for all the feedback. What I have decided to do for now, is take a step back and do some intense Bible study, as well as listen to various sermons online, and figure out what doctrines are closest to what the Bible actually says, since a lot of my questions are more doctrine-related than anything.

Oh, and as far as politically, I am a Libertarian leaning Conservative. I voted for Ron Paul in the primaries last year, and voted for Chuck Baldwin (Constitution Party) in November.

Shadowgirl, I appreciate the links and will check those out in the next day or so.

Nothing wrong with church-hopping. Just try out congregations until you find one you like.

So filtering your reputation from the opinions of those on the right, plus those in your church reveals your true character.

You are just a nut.

Talked to Dent lately? I havent seen him on chat.
