from my point of view, the lesser of two evils, which in amuurica happens to be the democrats. if the repubs get their way and bring back pre-existing conditions clauses i would never be able to get health insurance.

Ahh. The good ol' lesser of two evils explanation. The media and the money trail has already predetermined for us who we have to choose from.

When I was little, my mother tended to have some of the best ice cream flavors in our garage freezer, and I knew it because late at night she'd have her crazy rocky road flavor and I'd wonder... "Well, why the hell didn't she offer me that one or tell me a little bit more about how it tastes?" One night after dinner, she again offered me my "choice" of vanilla or strawberry - to which I gladly replied: "None. This is a trick. I want to see what's in the garage."

I'm not voting because my vote does not count.

Your vote counts the same as every other vote in your district.

I always vote for the silliest candidate or party*. The next elections should be the Quebec provincial ones. Since there is no Communist or Christian party at this level, I have will have to go with the Marxist-Leninists.

* One could say that the Parti Libéral and Parti Québécois, and the CAQ and Québec Solidaire for that matter, are not sensible at all, and very silly indeed. I beg to differ. Despite the fact that they are not sensible, they are also truly serious.

Ron Paul obviously

He is the only one who wants to Abolish the federal reserve or as I like to call it; Slavery. He also the only one that wants to end the wars. Hello?!?!

Since I can't vote for Ron Paul, I'll vote for Gary Johnson.

Indeed. We don't have any elections here until next year, but I'll be voting UKIP in the European elections. There isn't any other choice really.

Ruveyn,

I think you are right in regards to my vote counting probably on a smaller district scale. I'm from FL and after the 2000 elections, I began questioning exactly how much my vote really did count on the larger scale. We may just be too overpopulated as a race to really have every voice heard. It is just my personal belief that the popular vote is very susceptible to being skewed and manipulated. The level of dishonesty that takes place in politics is just cause enough along with the irresponsible handling of the 2000 elections in FL. It only takes a few, but it is too difficult to keep track of the impressions money can make on those in charge. Not to mention if your brother is the governor of the state that holds the deciding vote.

I was traveling internationally when this all occurred in 2000 and it was interesting to see the viewpoint of my international acquaintances on this matter. I initially doubted their skepticism, but it opened my eyes to the hope that I was holding on to in regards to our system's values and vulnerabilities.

Open to viewpoints though...

Regards,

Lauren

If every vote is counted as the ballot was cast and everyone who is qualified to vote gets to vote if he/she wishes to, how can the vote be "skewed". Do you count the vote "skewed" if it does not come out the way you want?

Pretty much this.

Everyone getting to vote is not the same as their vote getting counted.

Do you have proof that will stand up in court that some elections are fixed?

O.K. Which ones. When and where. And present your evidence. It has to be bona fide legally qualified evidence otherwise you are just blowing hot air.

Easy, friend. I was saying they weren't the same thing. I never said anything about it happening.
Take America out of the picture though and you'll find it happens in other countries. Zimbabwe, Egypt, Russia etc.

Besides, if we're going to talk about it on your level (everywhere and everything is America), I cannot prove voting fraud no more than you can disprove it. Therefore we have only our own faith on the matter to go by, and we should agree to disagree. Before you expand on this further I am not a US citizen and have no bias towards either of the 2 main parties or an independent. There was one particular election, though, which I think was head turner in voting...2000.

I'm going to let my d20 decide this. 1-10=President Obama and 11-20=Mitt Romney. Perhaps I should use my d30 and have 21-30=independent/other candidate.
