Thought about teaching any TallyMan?Good lesson there. That is also one of my favorite poems.

I have nothing to teach. I do not claim to be "enlightened" nor do I have anything anyone else doesn't have. In my opinion the role of a teacher is merely to point and suggest a direction for people to investigate for themselves. After that it is down to individuals to look for themselves. Anything else said by a teacher is trying to sell something.

Well I got the Tibetan Book of Living and Dying. Reading it, it's interesting because I had already come to some of the conclusions stated in it. And sorry for grammatical incorrectness.

[shudders] Some people do some really weird misguided stuff in the name of religion. Like those nuts in the Philippines who whip themselves bloody in a street procession every Easter... and a few even get themselves nailed to a cross for a while too.

They do that in Mexico, too. And whatever country that has the statue of Christ on top of Corcovado, they do too.

Self flagellation was big in Medeaval Europe. Still is Islamic Iran, and in the above mentioned Christian countries.

Today in america we can just watch Bergman movies ( when I asked my parents why they were riveted to a Bergman film on TV my mom that said it was "mortification of the flesh").
