Where is the statistical data from the OP and others pushing their own personal agenda here?

Who is doing the real fear mongering here?

There are people trying to make a name for themselves on this on all sides.

Huh?

lol. Yes, homeopathy was in those two other threads.

Still, there is the obvious connection: disclosure movement and homeopathy - both modern-day scams.

This reply offers little logic.

The OP made claims about this area of interest being rife with abuses... yet where is the statistical evidence supporting that? We are just supposed to take his word for it? How is that any different than the people he is warning us about?

How is that illogical... it's the OP's stance that is illogical.

Also, how do we know the people fighting "disclosure" of government information aren't causing more harm than the few people abusing rubes in the alien disclosure culture?

Yep. I tried using a script someone posted, but it did not work.

That is for you to decide.

Exactly.. which is why I am exposing your poorly thought out agenda here. This issue is far too important for people to be scared away by fear mongering or witch hunts...

Then maybe it's time to do it the old-fashioned way...

Another scam that may fit is the one being perpetrated on young girls; the one that convinces them that unless they look like bikini models, there is no way that their lives have any meaning, to get them to buy "beauty" products they don't need and fashions that don't last.

Indeed. Unfortunately, that is an issue in many societies, including a few where beauty is defined as having a large ring in one's mouth.

I don’t think getting involved in the disclosure movement makes people more susceptible to being duped…

I think it’s more like people who are susceptible to being duped are drawn to these outlandish conspiracy movements.

For whatever reason, some people simply want/need to live in these fantasy worlds. It’s as if vanilla reality is just too bland, bleak, and hopeless for them, so they spice things up with little green men and chupacabras....

In vanilla reality they’re rejects and losers, but in their fantastic reality they are desired—abducted by aliens and/or probed. :eew:

It’s really very sad, but there are millions of people like this. You can listen to them calling in to George Noory/Art Bell, Alex Jones, and Whitley Strieber on overnight talk radio every night.

The Devil can cite scripture...as Twain said.

Any cause has its charalatans and exploiters.

There are well meaning folks who believe the government is covering up UFO stuff.

Im not one of them. I think its a bunch of hooey.

But its a free country. A reasonable person might believe that the government knows more than its saying. So if you wanna spend your life tilting at that particular windmill -go for it.

Some of these folks are flakier than others. And a few are outright scammers (like that radio host probably is).

So-like any cause-buyer beware.
