Compared to how long men get put away if they had an affair with an under age, seven years isn't a lot.

Would you say the same thing about a teenage girl that had been abused in this way by a predatory male (or female!) teacher?

In fact, I would actually instigate a time limit on when teachers can have sex with former students. I would say that a relationship cannot be formed with a former pupil until they turn 18, or some time has passed.

No. Male and female anatomy are very different. A boy isn't going to get pregnant, and doesn't have a hymen to tear. For us, squirting our rocks off is generally a pleasant sensation, particularly when a lovely woman is involved. For a girl, it is a much bigger deal.

It's got nothing to do with whether or not the victim can get pregnant, the crime is called statutory rape, not reckless reproduction. At least in boys, there is no hymen to tear. And, in standard heterosexual encounters, the boy is not being penetrated, nor having an orifice filled with semen.

She is the one who is pregnant. Not he. She is the one who, at least in some countries, would be carted off to prison. Not he.

The fact that she's pregnant doesn't mean that she wasn't the responsible party in this interaction, nor that he's not going to be a parent long before he was ready to do so because of her actions. Don't get me wrong; a 36 year old man knocking up a 14 year old girl would be physiologically worse for the victim, I agree with you there. But pretending he's not a victim because of his gender just isn't accurate.

Just imagine trying to get child support from a fourteen year old boy.Now some of the men will believe he is a victim.I can't imagine any teenage boy wanting to be a dad at that age,or the financial responsibility that comes with a child.

It may come as a surprise to you ArrantPariah but teenage girls are often just as horny and wanting sex from older individuals as teenage boys, and on average are actually more mature mentally. If you want to be consistent therefore you should be fine with teenage sex with either gender.

Also, since you mentioned heterosexual boys earlier, I'm curious: what would your opinion be on a gay 14 year old having it with an adult man? Would you also support that?

Had a similar issues in my country. My oppinion is no else if if was about a male teacher and an female kid.

There is a reason why we, in general, dont want matured persons to be our kids early dating partners. Kids have based upon themselves the need to please others. Its an survival instinct, they are not grown enough to survive on their own, but must relie on grown ups, so they have the instinctive need to please them, to receive that help. During teenager years, there is a major brain-structure-change, causing them to be suddenly far more aware of what they are and what they want, focusing much more on becoming part of their social surrounding (mostly other teenagers), while depending far less on grown ups and their oppinions. Girls have that and boys have that. Some are done with that with 15, some with 20. And because of us not being able to do a brainscan on every teenager, if he already developed independeny from this kiddish "Want to please."-strain, we have age limits.

These age limits might be hard to follow for teenagers, because of them completely weird out of hormon causes and not having experienced to control their new sexuality yet. But a grown up, matured person dont has that excuses. Kids falling in love with grown ups, not being able to physically control that. Ok. Yes, I expect from male gym-teachers to be able to physically control themselves, when doing swimming with the whole class including boys and girls. That there might be some silly thought from now and then, when confronted with an physically already matured 14 year old. Thoughts are thoughts. But in his physical output, reactions, ... I expect him to be in control of himself, and not to behave like an 16 year old with hormon issues, not being able to control his erection when confronted with an 85 year old lady in an bathsuit. If not, he is not acceptable as a teacher. And from an female teacher I expect exactly the same.

Nothing bad about having an sexuality. But if you cant control it, you should not do a job, that even forces you to have the double amount of control, to match up the youths lack of control.
