At the moment, if I had to vote today, I think I would write in John Kerry.

Hell, I would pick John McCain over Hillary or Trump. I might not agree with many of McCain's opinions but at least I think he would do what he thinks is in America's best interest. I do not believe that either of Trump or Hillary would do the same.

Anybody else consider it slightly odd that we address Hillary Rodham Clinton by her first name?

Yea, real shame about that, I remember the discussion on "Instant Runoff Voting" If we had such a system of voting, we would have better options.

Given the two, Trump!! I think Hillary is "all-the-way horrible"----whereas Trump is only "partially horrible".

Same. There isn't any one running that I truly like or support. For that said person would have to be pro gun and pro welfare. How every for reasons I can't understand most pro gun people are conservative welfare is stealing types, and most pro welfare people are guns are evil types. Are people like me really that rare? :(

I already don't like that there's so little choice anyway. Pick one or the other.
But if you have to choose from two that you both don't want... eww.
Luckily, I will never have to make that choice.

I really don't understand voting third party in a presidential election. Usually when a third party candidates runs in the national election it splits the vote between the two candidates with the closest platform leaving the opposing candidate an easier win.

Imagine if Hilary Clinton and Trump won the primaries and Bernie Sanders jumped in as a third party candidate. Democrats and liberals will end dividing the vote between Hilary and Bernie. That will leave Trump with an undivided electorate compared to Hilary who would lose votes to Bernie. It just gives the advantage to the person you would least want to win. With this scenario it is possible to have a candidate elected who is only supported by as little as 34% of the country.

Third party can work in local elections but not usually in national elections with the way our system is set up.

Anyway, I'm for Bernie Sanders but if she wins I'd vote for Hilary over any of the other candidates. running now.

If it comes down to Mini-Mussolini vs. Madame Mao, I'll be voting Libertarian. Won't be the first time.

While I support Bernie, if it came down to Hillary or Trump, I'd reluctantly vote for Hillary, because she's not Trump.

I will never vote for Hillary Clinton, she is a criminal and is not qualified to hold office.

Trump has upside and will completely overthrow the political order regardless of what he does as president, I'm ready for the chaos candidate

Sanders won't run third party, he will drop out and endorse Hillary

The most sensible move would be having Bernie as VP if he doesn't get the nomination.

No. I'm thinking it's just because there are TWO Clintons in Politics, so that distinguishes between the two, without having to write BOTH names.

What in heaven's name is Trump's upside?

Imagine what would happen if he would say that Angela Merkel (the Chancellor of Germany) was disgusting because she went to the bathroom?

It's obvious even Trump is not taking his candidacy seriously.

Trump represents a different direction in foreign policy that will lead us away from war and is independent of the incestuous relationship with special interests that all the other candidates haves, Hillary's husband is the one who signed NAFTA and destroyed so many American jobs and Trump stands against these disastrous "free trade" deals, an America first president, somebody who might actually get some things done which Hillary has no hope to and would be likely facing impending impeachment. We need to clean out the trash with our political class, they deserve no respect and I laugh at their public mockery and considering the damage they've done to this country that is the least I am entitled too. How can't you laugh poor ole Jeb or should I say Jebra! Stopping another Bush presidency counts for something in my book, stopping another Bush and then stopping another Clinton presidency would be a monumental accomplishment.

Trump is a character, a showman, lets not pretend like the modern political campaign is anything more than dressed up reality tv. Trump is beating the establishment at their own game, I am ready to step the hell off the status quo so that's why I see upside.

I wouldn't mind a housecleaning--but not with Trump!

This is what I foresee: if Trump is elected, he would hire people in his Cabinet, and as his advisors, who are more experienced in politics, who know how to navigate Congress, the lobbyists, etc. These people would have less of a vested interest than him in cleaning house.

The status quo would continue, with Trump as a figurehead sort of President. At summit meetings, he would say dumb things, and offend the entire Free World. He has no diplomatic sense about him. Our international credibility would be shot to hell.

What we need is somebody who is thoroughly acquainted with the political establishment. With the lobbyists, the vested interests, the banking system, the bureaucracy, etc. That somebody has to have become disgusted with the whole morass, and had an Epiphany as a result. He wouldn't have to hire Washington insider--because he was an Insider himself. This sort of person is the ONLY person who can really change things, in my opinion.

The issue is The Forever War.

After beating the Soviets the Taliban formed a government, and were training troops to defend the country.

Bill Clinton without declaration of war fired cruise missiles into the training camps.

In response, Saudi Arabia fired cruise missiles into the World Trade Towers.

The Taliban ended the production of opium, America invaded.

Since then we have been at war with Islamic countries, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen, none who had anything to do with it.

Our military suffered, dead, wounded, staying too long in combat. We killed millions who were not involved.

The response has been the rise of The Islamic State, a much worse enemy that now threatens the whole world.

The Military Industrial Complex profited, the oil companies, the Saudis gained political power, we ran up $15 Trillion in National Debt, and shipped our best jobs off shore under Bill Clinton's NAFTA.

This election is about turning away from that path.
