Sure but new techniques can deal with that and these are separate studies. In the case of the Denisovan DNA they were shocked by how well preserved it was. Describing it as almost miraculous.

From the creationist's perspective it's damaging because many of them have claimed that early hominin/ds are just normal humans. Their DNA confirms they were separate species or subspecies, as their bones, teeth and ages previously established.
