Almost entirely rubbish- 40% of UK Muslims want Sharia law in areas that are predominantly Muslim.
So that makes it alright then does it? I think it rather shows that there is a major chasm between a decent minority of UK Muslims and the rest of society.
I highly doubt you'd get 40% of UK Christians living in Christian areas demanding their own separate legal system.

Additionally, it is likely that many of that 40% would be against stoning gay people and apostates, but thought Sharia would be good for inheritance disputes and similar.
And Sharia will be used just for that, won't it. They're demanding Sharia, and I actually think that a fair few of these people who are demanding it are very naive as to what it actually is. They will call for Sharia because that's the law as laid down by God. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of those who have had experience of it would be less than appreciative in seeing it make any inroads here.
I'm sorry, but if religion is allowed to overtly elbow its way into the legal process, we'll all suffer for it and the biggest campaigners against Sharia are gay and lesbian people who are from a Muslim background.
There are already many secret Sharia courts operating in Britain which are not exactly transparent institutions. There is rumoured to be significant pressure on people - especially women - living in Muslim communities to use these courts.
