It does not have any status as a human being at all, because it is no more a human being than my iPhone.

The status doesn't matter. The law can't get around truth. The same law that says it's not a human once said black people weren't human.

In some states that would be considered illegal.

If a bunch of collective cells can be considered a Human, I hereby demand my junk receives status as an individual, as it contains magnitudes greater amounts of cells, has a mind of its own and actually provides a beneficial service to society... unlike lazy embryos

In some states it's illegal not to own a gun and legal to marry your cousins, what's your point?

No, there's not any state that requires firearm ownership, although there are plenty that prohibit their citizens from owning firearms.

There is one town in some state which requires firearm ownership, forgot which one now...

Either way, irrelevant to me, I'm from England mate

I think that even if a fetus is considered 'alive', the mother should have the right to abort it. And I stand up for the right to abort even if I don't agree with the reason behind it (eg., if a child has a chance to be disabled or sick).

in the end all arguments in this thread are pretty much irrelevant as even a grown human person cannot make claim to the body of another.

Nowhere is that definition made out. There are abundant circumstances in which the killing of an innocent human being is manslaughter, rather than murder. Infanticide is a crime separate and apart from murder, which involves the killing of an innocent human.

If I sign a DNR order for a patient, that is an action which may indirectly cause the death of an innocent human being, by directing that lifesaving efforts not be taken. But it is not murder. It is not even criminal.

Quote:
The unborn are innocent humans.
Abortion is the killing of the unborn.
So abortion is murder.

If you're going to try to go wandering down that path, make sure that you have laid the intellectual groundwork, first.

Can't we just take a state where abortion is considered like murder and toss all the nutcases advocating such thing in there and not allow them to spread their ideas to neighboring states? Is that so hard? >.>

Your insensitivity and sarcasm is appalling.
How can you compare a future human with to an object?

This is one of those topics that is useless to get into an argument over. No one will change their opinions and this argument will not help.
I really should have never post this if it makes people act like an ass.
