NT men are funny with this type of thing. They compartmentalise their personal values/beliefs until they hook a girl. By that time the girl has signed on and compromises on their partner's beliefs.

My father did a number hiding a lot of things from my mother until she had three kids.

I can say without reservation I wouldn't have at that age and I wouldn't now. I've dated people I thought were hot, but I wouldn't date someone simply because they're hot.

I had enough interest I could afford to be fussy at that age. I also had enough experience with hot but crazy in high school that I knew it wasn't worth the price of admission.

Boxes, schmoxes. I know enough Republicans/conservatives to know that we have little in common, values-wise. When I was young and less picky, I dated a few guys who leaned conservative, but I knew those weren't going to be that serious, and so did they. I wish them well, but hells so, I wouldn't touch them today. (I'm fine with the fact that they probably view me the same way.)

The man I married, the one I can honestly describe as my soul mate because every single year we've spent together has convinced me that there is such a thing, is a liberal man who shares my deepest values. Our mutual respect arises from our core values, and, yes, we both vote for people who, as far as we can discern, share similar values.

Well the girl in question was part of a group rumored to be a Christian cult so she def was not goth or emo.

Dating a hot christian girl who was also in a cult?.....been there and done that. They lead you on until they are sure you are brainwashed then they leave you.

I went to school with a girl who was easily the most attractive girl in the entire school (not just my class or even year grade), She went full goth around 15 and got pregnant to an older goth guy and left school.
