Boxes, schmoxes. I know enough Republicans/conservatives to know that we have little in common, values-wise. When I was young and less picky, I dated a few guys who leaned conservative, but I knew those weren't going to be that serious, and so did they. I wish them well, but hells so, I wouldn't touch them today. (I'm fine with the fact that they probably view me the same way.)
The man I married, the one I can honestly describe as my soul mate because every single year we've spent together has convinced me that there is such a thing, is a liberal man who shares my deepest values. Our mutual respect arises from our core values, and, yes, we both vote for people who, as far as we can discern, share similar values.
