Post anything you want (rules of the forum withstanding) in regard to Politics, Philosophy, or Religion.

I'll start us off with some entries from one of my favourite books The Devil's Dictionary by Ambrose Bierce.

Quote:
POLITICS, n. A strife of interests masquerading as a contest of principles. The conduct of public affairs for private advantage.

Quote:
PHILOSOPHY, n. A route of many roads leading from nowhere to nothing.

Quote:
RELIGION, n. A daughter of Hope and Fear, explaining to Ignorance the nature of the Unknowable.

Ooh, wasn't he a cynic.

Select your route for its destination and not by the depth of its rut.

There is a great quote from Feynman but I would have to locate it. Without kidding, though, is the current format not pretty random?

Christopher Columbus was the first socialist: he didn’t know where he was going, he didn’t know where he was… and he did it all at taxpayers expense.

The devil teaches compassion while god speaks of damnation.

The Devil's Dictionary is always an enjoyable little read to pick out words from.

The 'conflict' between Christianity and Atheism is about as relevant as the former conflict between Islam and Zoroastrianism

god's real. the real reason there isn't any evidence for this is that he's kind of a dick and thinks it's funny to mess with humans. his friends think he's a bit of a douche for being so mean to his creation. someday, he'll show them. he'll show them all! his plan is to harvest the souls of the most devout and use them to power his robot army FOR GREAT JUSTICE!

As if that wasn't obvious from all of creation. The 2nd law of thermodynamics alone show how much of a dick any deity would be.
